AMOS O. TAYLOR, OF OTTOKEE, OHIO.
IMPROVEMENT IN BURGLAR-ALARMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 158,873, dated January 19, 1875; application filed June 20, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Arms 0. TAYLOR, of Ottokee, county of Fulton and State of Ohio, have invented certain Improvements in Alarm- Telegraphs. The following description, taken in connection with the accompanying plate of drawings hereinafter referred to, forms a full and exact specification, wherein are set forth the nature and principles of the invention, by which the same may be distinguished from others of a similar class, together with such parts thereof as are claimed as new and are desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States.
My invention relates to that class of apparatus commonly known as telegraph-alarms; and the nature thereof consists in certain improvements in the construction of the same,
- hereinafter shown and described.
In the accompanying plate of drawings, in which corresponding parts are illustrated by the same letters, Figure l is a perspective View.
In the drawings, A designates an uprightwith an aperture, which allows the lug or projection E to pass through and support the said bolt. A cord, H, which is rove over the pulleys I I 1 connects the said bolt with the weight K.
When the door is forced or pulled outward, it pushes the bolt A from the projection E, and, through the medium of the cord H and pulleys I I 1 allows the weight K to drop. The fall of the weight, through the medium of the cross-bar M and lever N, sets in motion the escapement mechanism 0, which sounds the alarm.
Having thus described the construction of my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- The combination of the door D, provided with a slot, O, the bolt A, projection E, pulleys I 1. I cord H, weight K, cross-bar M, and lever N, all operating together as described.
