WILLIAM F. HOWE, OF GALVESTON, TEXAS.
IMPROVEMENT IN MOSQUITO-BAR FRAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 158,7 I3, dated January l2, 1875; application filed September 26, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, YILLIAM F. HOWE, of Galveston, in the county of Galveston and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Mosquito-Bar Attachment for Low-Post Bedsteads, of which the followi1: g is a specification:
Figure l is a top view of my improved attachment. Fig. 2 is a side View of the same, showing it as attached to the head-board of a bedstead, and part being broken away to show the construction.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
A are two rods or light posts7 in the lower part of each of which are formed two slots, the lower parts of which are made wide enough for the passage of the heads of'two screws or bolts, to be attached to the posts or end board of a bedstead. The upper parts of the said slots are made narrow, to tit around the bodies be kept from slipping upon the cord D by knots formed in said cord, one upon each side of each end of each of the said bars B. To one end of each of the bars B is attached a pin, b', which pins are inserted in holes formed in the posts A a little distance below their upper ends, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The netting or gauze is spread over the bars in the usual way.
With this construction, by withdrawing the pins b from the posts A, and slipping the cord D from the ends of the bars B, and detaching the posts A'from the bedsteads, the bars B may be folded together, and they and the post A tied into a small and compact roll, very convenient for storage and transport-ation.
It' desired, the brace-cords C may be replaced by brace-bars, the outer ends ot' which rest against the posts A at a little distance below the ends of the bars B.
Having thus described myinvention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of two rods, A A, two centrally-pivoted diagonal bars, B B, a circumjacent cord, D, andl cords C C, extending from central pivot to the rods, as and for the pur- WILL. F. HOWE. l
ypose described.
