ANTIGLARE EYE PROTECTOR.
Application filed October 2, 1924. erial No. 741,195.
This invention relates to improvements in anti-glare eye protectors.
It is an object of this invention to provide av device which may be readily attached to the face which will prevent rays of light which may be reflected upwardly from the ground, water, snow, or other Substances striking the eye.

lVith the foregoing and other objects in view which will be made manifest in the fol- 1 lowing detailed description and pointed out in the appended claims, reference is had to .the accompanying drawings for an illustrative embodiment of the invention, wherein:

Referring to the accompanying drawings wherein similar reference characters designate similar parts throughout the improved eye protector is designed to extend substantially horizontally and'transversely across the .face about one-half inch below the center of the eyes. The protector is formed of a sheet' of material 10 which may be of metal, celluloid, or similar material, having a nose receiving notch 11' formed therein. Suitable ear engaging members 19 are pivoted to the ends of the sheet of material 10, which ear engaging members aresimilar in form and in construction to the ear pieces of eye glasses or spectacles. g
A suitable padding 13 is glued or otherwise. secured to the under side of the sheet of material 10. Thispadding may be formed of cotton batting, or similar material, and
serves to provide a cushion which engages the face so that no sharp edges willv be caused to depress into the skin.

In Fig. 5 a still further form of eye protector is disclosed. This eye protector is form of a sheet of material-1O having the 'cushoning material 13 secured upon the under side thereof and is provided with suitable spring clips 17 which are adapted to releasably engage upon the lower edges of a pair of eye glasses 18. As will readily be appreciated, the eye protector extendsfor- Wardly of the face and conforms with the features thereof and prevents rays of strong light which are directly upwardly from s'trikin the eyes. i y

I claim: v I 1.'An anti-glare protector comprising a flat sheet of material having a nose receiving recess formed therein, a layer of soft material secured upon the under side of said sheet and spring clips carried by said sheet for detachably securing said sheet to the lower edges of a'pair of eye glasses.
2. An anti-glare protector comprising a pair of spectacles, and a flat sheet of material secured to said spectacles at the bottom thereof, said flat sheet of material being adapted to extend across the nose of the PATRICK: R. FANT.
