Application filed February This invention relates to water-tight and air-tight receptacles or containers and more particularly to a novel and improved special receptacle which may be carried on the belt of an individual.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide an' air-tight and water-tight receptacle or container for receiving personal articles such as money, face powder or other toilet articles being constructed and arranged with a view of compactness and which may be carried in a pocket of a bathersbelt, for instance.
Another object of my invention is to provide an air-tight and water-ti'ghtcompartment or receptacle for receiving money, jewelry or other personal articles including a novel and improved cover or closure embodying a mirror and a pad between. the mirror and the interior of the receptacle to prevent rattling of its contents.
- In order to more fully understand and appreciate my invention, reference is had to the accompanying drawings, showing apreferred embodiment thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view.
Figure 2 is vertical sectional view the same.
Referring now to the drawings, 5 designates'the body of the receptacle, which is preferably of rubber or other waterproof material. The top" of the body is restricted in size and provided with a threaded ring 6, which is bent outwardly and downwardly as at 7 over the top edge of the-body and crimped thereto so that the material is sesurely held between the inner and outer wall of the ring. A closure 8 having a top flange 9 is provided with an externally threaded ring 10 which is adapted to engage the threads of the ring 6 as the cap is threaded on the body of the receptacle. In order to provide for an air-tight and water-tight closure, a gasket 10 is interposed between the flange 9 and the top of the ring 7 as clearly shown by Figure 2 of the drawings. The bottom edge of the bottom ring 10 is provided with an inwardly extending flange 11 which supports a mirror 12. The flange 11 is provided with lugs or enlargements 13 on opposite sides thereof for a fastener head 14. A. pad 15, preferably of soft material is provided with eyes 16. which engage the heads 1a so as to protect the mirror from the through 18, 1925. Serial No. 9,908.
personal articles retained in the body of the receptacle. It is assumed that such personal articles as jewelry, rings or a watch, will be held in a felt bag and placed in the body of the receptacle 5 so as'to prevent their damage.
The receptacle is of a size capable of being carried in the pocket. of anysuitable type of belt, such as a bathers belt. Furthermore, the inner surface of the pad 15 maintains the face of "the mirror clear and the pad prevents the damage of said mirror from the articles retained in the body portion of the receptacle.
While I have illustrated and described my invention with some degree of particularity, I realize that inpractice various alterations therein may be made. I therefore reserve the right and privilege of changing the form of the details of construction or altering the arrangement of the correlated parts without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is 1. A receptacle of the .class described comprising a body formed of resilient material and having a restricted opening, a threaded ring crimped to the-top of said body, a flagged, threaded closure, an inwardly extending flange on the bottom of said closure, a mirror retained by the said bottom flange, opposed fastener heads on the bottom flange and a mirror protecting pad having eyes for engaging thefastener heads. 7

A receptacle of the class described comprising a bulged body having arestricted opening at the top, a threaded ring crimped to the top of said body, a flanged closure having an externally threaded ring forv engaging the first mentioned threaded ring, a gasket between the flange of the closure and the said threaded ring, an inwardly extending flange on the bottom of the closure. a mirror retained by said inwardly extending flange, opposed lugs having fastener heads formed with said inwardly extending flange, and a mirror protecting pad having eyes for engaging the fastener heads.
