Description

H. C. F. LASE POS'T FULLER April 20 Filed Jan. 22, 1925 2 Sheets-Sheet .1
April 20 1926. 1,581,935
H. C. F- LASE POST FULLER Filed Jan. 22, 1925 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 Figure 1. After the chains 9 have been suitably engaged around the post P pull is imposed upon the upper end portion of the beam B resulting in upward swinging movement of the neck or portion 3 carrying the post P therewith as illustrated in Figure 2, and when the beam B has reached substantially a horizontal position the post P is substantially entirely removed from the ground as illustrated in Figure 3. As the plate 6 moves upwardly the wheels 2 will travel inwardly toward the post P whereby it is assured that the removal of the post P will be in substantially a straight line whereby the pulling operation may be accom plished with a pronounced ease and facility.
The chain 19 is adapted to be coupled to a wagon or other vehicle to effect the requisite pull upon the beam B but I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to this particular operating power. a
From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a post puller constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not Wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of the several parts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice except as hereinafter claimed.
I'claim:
A postpuller comprising in combination, an axle, ground engaging means supporting said axle, a beam provided at one end with an upstanding arcuate extension, means for operatively connecting said beam with the axle to permit said beam to have swinging movement in a vertical direction, such connection between the beam and axle being at apoint in close proximity to the arcuate extension, said arcuate portion being disposed on a radius to contact with the ground when the beam is vertically disposed to maintain the beam in such position, the outer end portion of the beam being flattened to provide a plate coplanar with the beam, the outer edge of said plate being straight and arranged on a slight incline converging inwardly toward the beam, and work engaging'means secured to the plate adjacent to the inner or lower end of the inclined edge of'the plate.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature.
HANS CHRISTIAN FRIEDERICH LASE.
