The special construction of the stern bracket of the shaft and of the web portion surrounding the shaft as described and shown and the arrangement of the guiding surfaces may. be conveniently used in any ship with any number of shafts.
I claim 1. An arrangement for guidingthe propeller current of multiple-propeller ships, comprising a shaft housing uninterruptedly integral with the adjacent plates of the hull of the ship and including a bearing portion and a web portion, and curved surfaces on the said web portion with the rear end turned in the direction'opposed to the direction of the movement of the propeller blade J, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. An arrangement for guiding the propeller current of multiple-propellerships, comprising a shaft housing uninterruptedl integral with the adjacent plates of the hull of the ship and including a bearing portion and web portion arranged in the same general plane, curved surfaces on'the said web portion with the rear end turned in the direction opposed to thedirection of the movement of the propeller blades, and additional elongated guiding surfaces integral with the bearing portion of the said housing and curved to correspond to the said web faces, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
3. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1, wherein slots are provided in the said web portion, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
'4. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of elongated guiding surfaces are provided on the shaft housing.
