In use the" steam is delivered"throughwhe' lw pipe 23 and-as it is flowing through the pipe and into the outer shell 11, it will be condensed by reason of the fact that air circulating through the pipes 21 into the inner shell 16, against the pipe 23 and the 110 wall of the shell16 and out of the open- The steam or vapor entering the chamber 11 will circulate therein and into the annular chamber 14 and will thus be'exposed to or will contact with an extended cooling surface with the result that the steam or vapor will be rapidly condensed.
If desired a motor 27 may be supported by means of a suitable bracket or support 28 beneath the bottom 19 of the outer shell and adjacent the inlet ends of the tubes 21, for operating a tan or air circulating device 29 which latter serves as a means for inducing circulation of cooling air through the pipes 21, inner chamber 16 and out of the openings 18.
While the pi'e'lierred form ot the invention has been herein specitically described, it is to be. understood that various changes may be made in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts within the scope of the claims without depart-ing from the spirit of this invention.
What is claimed as new is:
1. A condenser embodying a cylindrical outer shell, a top and bottom therefor, the bottom being spaced a considerable distance above the lower end of the said shell, an inner shell of smaller diameter than the outer shell concentrically located within the upper end of the outer shell to form therewith, a cylindrical chamber between the bottoms of the two shells and an annular chanr ber between the two shells, air circulating pipes within the said cylindrical chamber and opening through the bottoms of both of said shells, a vapor pipe extending through the said inner shell and having communication with the interior of the said outer shell, and a draw off leading through the bottom of the said outer shell, there being air outlet openings through one of the walls of the said inner shell.
2. A condenser embodying a cylindrical outer shell, a top and bottom therefor, the bottom being spaced a considerable distance above the lower end of the said shell, an inner shell of smaller diameter than the outer shell concentrically located within the upper end of the outer shell to form therewith, a cylindrical chamber between the bottoms of the two shells and an annular chamber between the two shells, air circulating pipes within the said cylindrical chamber and opening through the bottoms of both of said shells, a vapor pipe extending through the said inner shell and having communication with the interior of the said outer shell,
a draw off leading through the bottom of the said outer shell, there being air outlet openings through one of the walls of the said inner shell, and a removable relief valve having communication with the said annular chamber.
3. A condenser embodying a cylindrical outer shell, a top and, bottom therefor, the bottom being spaced a considerable distance above the lower end of the said shell, an inner shell of smaller diameter than the outer shell concentrically located within the upper end of the outer shell to form therewith, a cylindrical chamber between the bot toms of the two shells and an annular chamber between the two shells, air circulating pipes within the said cylindrical chamber and opening through the bottoms of both of said shells, a vapor pipe extending through the said inner shell and having communication with the interior of the said outer shell,
a draw of? leading through the bottom of the said outer shell, there being air outlet open ings through one of the walls of the said inner shell, and means adjacent the inlet end of the said air circulation pipes for inducing circulation of air through the last said pipe.
4:. A condenser embodying a cylindrical outer shell, a top and bottom therefor, the bottom being spaced a considerable distance above the lower end of the said shell, an inner shell of smaller diameter than the outer shell concentrically located within the upper end of the outer shell to form therewith, a cylindrical chamber between the bot toms of the two shells and an annular chamber between the two shells, air circulating pipes within the said cylindrical chamber and opening through the bottoms of both of said shells, a vapor pipe extending through the SCtlCl'll'lDGl shell and having communication with the interior of the said outer shell, a draw off leading through the bottom of the said outer shell, there being air outlet openings through one of the walls of the said inner shell, and mechanical means including a tan and actuating means therefor disposed within the confines of the said outer shell and adjacent the inlet end of the said air pipes for inducing a circulation of air therethrough and through the said inner shell.
