I secure within the stencilecylinder an ink fountain which may assume the form of a cylindricalcontainer, rotatably attached at one end to the inner end of said stencil'- cylind'er, and extending through the saine nearly to the opposite end thereof. This container is providedv with' one or more inlfeeding apertures or slots, from which' the ink vmay drop upon the interior of the stencil-cylinder. The fountain is revolubly shiftable uponi-ts support, so that,ia-fter the stencil-cylinder is turned to 'bring vany desired portion thereof to the bottom,the fountain may/be turnedto bring its ink? feeding apertures to the bottom. f Onefcature of the invention is the provision of means for spreading the ink evenly over the interior of the cylinder, to produce work of luniformv quality; i j Another featureis the provision of irnproved means for automatically controlling the opening and closingo't the inkffeeding apertures when the container is vturned to itsrespective operative and inoperative positions, although the device may 'be used without this controlling means, 'the excess ink flowing back by gravity into the container Vthrough the apertures-upon rotating back to its normali position.
