Figure 1 shows my improved tie formed of wire with three eyes therein. Fig. 2 showsthe tie of Fig. 1 bent into circular fornrready for application to a package. Fig. 3 shows the tie of Figs. 1 and 2 with the shanks of the terminal eyes twisted together ready for the reception through all three eyesof a locking device. Fig. 4 isfsimilar to that of Fig. 3 and showing'the tie drawn snugly about the neck ofa bag and sealed by means of a flat sealing strip passedthrough the three eyes of said tie. Fig. 5 is a modified form of my device. Fig. 6 shows'the form of Fig. 5 assembled, as when about a pack:

7 In the preferred form of Fig. 1, my improved tie preferably comprises a flexible member 2, made from wire, provided at the ends with eyes '3, 4, respectively, and, if intended for use with a fiat sealing strip, such as shown in Fig. 4, said eyes are preferably oblong, asshown. Said eyes may be formed in any convenient manner, asby fiatting and expanding the metal, as eye 3, orby twisting the end of the wire about the body thereof, as eye 4. In case the twisted wire form is used it is required that the twisted portion be of sufficient length to make said twisted portion or portions secure agamst being tampered with when in sea-lable position about a package. length of the tie in this modification is rclatively longer than in the other forms shown, for a wider range of adjustment. It will be obvious that the assembled eyesbe understood to mean tie having at least one closed loop or eye through which a seal. ing strip may be passed for locking by enclosure with another portion of said tie.

The term package as herein used, will be understood to include a boX, bale, bag or other article or container adapted to be encircled and sealed.

I claim: I

1. A sealable package tie including in combination a flexible member having an eye formed in each end thereof, said member being adapted for encircling a-package and being drawn taut thereabout by twisting together the portions thereof adjacent said eyes, and sealing means comprising a strip of material passed through said ,eyes and about a single portion of said member and means for sealing the strip OfmateriziL-i I v 2.
