To all 'whom t may concern:
' Be it known that I, JOHAN EMIL ERIKSEN, a subject of the King of Norway, residing at Oslo, in the Kingdom of Norway, have invented new and useful Improvements in Automatic Pistols, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in automatic fire arms and more particularly to automatic pistols and it hasfor its object toprovide a piston wherein the force of the recoil after each shot reloads the pistol from the magazine. A further object is to provide an automatic pistol that is simple in construction and arrangement of parts,'reliable and accurate in use and cheap to manufacture.
With the foregoing and other objects in View the invention consists in the combination and varrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described, pointed ut in the appended claims and illustrated in the accom-` part of this panying drawing which forms a application and in which- Fig. 1 is a vertical sectional view through the pistol on line 1-1 of Fig. 2.

The magazine is oblong in cross section and is retained in-position within the handle grip by the end 18 of the spring 19 that extends through the said perfora-f tion 16, said spring being supported by the bar 20 that extends transversely of the hand grip and 1s secured to the sidewalls thereof.

Each lever 24 is provided with a stub pin 31 adapted for releasable engagement by a notched portion 32 in each side 10 of the aforesaid U-shaped cooking lever, said sides 10 having their free ends 33 beveledfor engagement with the bar 20, that serves as a release bar, whereby said sides are raised outl of engagement with the pins 31. One lever 24 is rovided with a stub pin 34 against which) the recessed portion of -a link 35 bears that connects the triggerv 36 to the.

A pin 51 in the lower open end of the casing being engaged by the notched portions 52 of the `short ends 53 of the said angular levers 24. To set or cock the hammer when it is 1n the osition shown in Fig. 1 the extension 4, of the handle grip, is pushedinwardly thus causing the sides 10 of the cooking lever to move the levers 24, through the medium of the pins 31, breech. block 25 and hammer 43 to cocked position. When the sides 10 encounter the bar 20 they are released from the pins 31. The rack 42 moves with the hammer until the tooth 41 is engaged by the sear 37. This action also causes the lever arms53 to depress the spring casing 48 while the link 46 raises the plunger 501 and compresses the spring 49 between said plunger and the top 'of the spring casing.
The follower bar 22 has now advanced a cartridge to firing position. To discharge the cartridge the trigger 36 is pressed inwardly thus, through the medium of the link 35, disengaging the Sear 37 from the rack.
The spring 49 will now bring the hammer forcibly forward advancing the breech block and causing the firing pin to discharge the cartridge. The re-coil will reset ythe ham- -mer and other co-operating elements and the gun can be ired repeatedly.

an. extension therefor movable relatlvely thereto, cooking levers carried bv said eX# tension and extending into said handle grip, a breech block, a ring pin carried thereby, a hammer contiguous to said breech block, angular levers fulcrumed in. said handle grip and connected to said breech block, releasable connection between said levers and said cooking levers, a trigger, a sear operatively connecting said trigger and hammer, and recoil mechanism connecting said angular levers and hammer whereby the latter is automatically cocked after each discharge of the pistol.
