`IMPROVEMENT lN SHOT-POUCH SLINGS.

Speciiication forming part of Letters Patent No. 156,930, dated November 17, 1874; application filed July 18, 1874.

To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, WILLIAM W. KoLLocK, ot' August-a, in the county of Richmond and State ot' Georgia, have invented a new and useful Improvement in PouchSling, ot' which the following is a specification:

My invention has for its object to furnish a simple and convenient devicefor carrying a shot pouch, which shall be so constructed as to carry the pouch securely and prevent it from being lost by the pulling ott' of the rings, as frequently happens When the pouches are carried in the ordinary way.

The invention consists in an improved pouchsling formed of straps arranged in connection with each oth er, as hereinafter fully described.

A is the shoulder-strap, which is made in two parts connected by a buckle, so that the said strap can be conveniently lengthened and shortened, as may be required. To the ends ofthe shoulder-strap Ais attached a rin g-strap, B, of such a sizeas to fit around the smaller part of the pouch, as indicated in dotted lines in the ligure. To the strap A, at a little distance from its ends, is Yattached a second ringf strap, C, made larger than the ring-strap B,

so as to lit around the larger part of the pouch, as indicated in dotted lines in the figure. D is a short strap secured to the ring-straps B (l midway between the end parts ofthe shoulderstrap A, and to its end, at or near the edge of the larger ring-strap, C, is attached a buckle. To the opposite sides of the ring-straps B G, and also midway between the end parts of the strap A, is attached a strap, E, the free end of which is designed to be passed through the ring ofthe pouch and buckled into the buckle 0f the strap D.

With a sling thus constructed the pouch can be easily and conveniently carried, and cannot become detached and lost, and, at the same time, will always be in a convenient position for use in loading the gun.

Having thus described my invention, Iclaiin as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- An improved pouch-slin g formed ofthe straps A B G D E, arranged in connection with' each other, substantially as herein shown and described.
