COMBINATION LUGGAGE.

Be it known that I, Hoeren Rirrn'ron, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Jersey City, in the county oi' Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Combination Luggage, of which the following is a speciiication.

The object is to provide a single compact piece or hand luggage of the class oit ladies7 trai/'cling cases capabie of serving as a double hat-box, as a combination hat-boX and Weel:- end case, and as a suit-case. f

In the accompanying drawings illustrating the invention:

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the case with the lid open, adjusted as a double hatbox;

F ig. 2 is a similar view showing the adjustment for a combination hat-box and weekend case; and

Fig. 3 is a plan view with the lid standing straight up, showing the suitcase adjustment, dotted lines being used for better indication of the positions ot the partitions and the hat-forms when in position.

"he oblong body is 'fitted with a hinged partition 6 adapted to be placed transversely across the interior from `liront to rear so as to divide it into two compartments 7 and 8 ot unequal size. rthe partition is hinged at 9 to the tf1-ont wall of the body, and when it is `in position its rear end rests against a stop strip 10 on the rear wall and is held by i siia'p-iastener tab l1 on the partition engaging a snap-button l2 on the wall. The larger compartment 7, which is then totalled, is substantially square, so that the partition can be folded l'l-at against the viront wall, throwing the compartments into a single interior.

A pair of snap-buttons 13 are iixed on the bottom ot the body in position to hold a removable hat-'form 11i centr-ally of the area of the compartment 7. The flange 15 of the hat-form is provided with snap-sockets 16 corresponding to the buttons.

A second hat-term 17 having snap-sockets 18 is provided for the lid, the inside of which has a pair of snap-buttons 19 for the purpose. The position of this hat-form is offset longitudinally ltoward the other end ot the case from the position of the. hat-form 14, in such manner as to permit hats to be placed on both without interfering with each other.

The case terms a double hat-box with both ot the hat-forms in position and the partition placed at one side, as in Fig. 1.

In F ig. 2 the partition is fastened across the interior, and the hat-form 17 has been displaced, so that a Weekend case compartment 8 is provided. The other compartment 7 is large enough to receive a hat on the hattorm 14. The case, thus adjusted, will hold a hat, an extradress and all necessary accessories.

The case constitutes a suit-case when both oi the hat-forms are displaced and the partition is folded baclt. This is shown in Fig. 8. The positions of the hat forms and the transverse position of the partition are indicated by dotted lilies in this ligure te bring out relations.

What I claim as new is:

A combination traveling case, comprising a suit-case having a partition in its body hinged to one side wall intermediate the ends thereot and of a length approximately equate to the width oi' the interior of the body so as to be adapted to lie flat against said wall or to be swung straight across the interior to divide the same into two compartments, and means ior removably attaching two hatiiorms, one of them to the bottoni oi' the body in the space of one of said compartments, and the otherlhat-t'orm to the inside ot the cover over the space oi' the other compartment, substantially as set forth.
