Be it known that I, ANDREW S. WITWER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Joliet, in the county of Will and State of Illinois, have invented a` new and useful Improvement in Receptacle Closures, of which the following vis a specification.
My invention relates generally to receptacle closures, but more particularly to closures for paste tubes; and my object is to provide a novel, simple, and inexpensive form ofV such construction, and to provide efor the issuing 4of the contents of the tube, when such contents are tooth paste, in a ribbon of a very desirable cross section. occupies the position shown in Fig. 1 the apertures 11 and 16 will be out of registration, as shown in Fig. 1, and when removed to the left in Fig. 4 to the position therein shownthese apertures will be in registration. The closure also comprises a cap portion 17 which extends across the end piece 9 and is rotatable thereon, the cap being prevented from separating from the end piece by pro- `viding an inwardly extending liange 18 which underlaps the shoulder 10 of the end piece. The cap 17 contains an aperture 19 of the saine shape and size as the apertures 11 and 16 and so located as to register with the aperture 11 when the cap' is rotated to a certain position.
The slide 15 and cap 17 are provided with means whereby rotation of the cap in one direction shifts the slide to the left and rotation in the opposite direction shifts the slide to the right, a preferred embodiment of these means comprisin a camming slot 20 inthe upper surface o the slide 15 and a pin 21 dependin from the cap 17 and extending' into the s ot 20. 1.` A closure device for a receptacle, comprising an end piece on the `rece tacle containing an aperture, a slide on sai end piece and containing an a erture positioned to register with the aper ure in said end piece when said slide is 1n one position, an apertured rotatory member on said end piece, and
means for imparting rectilinear movement to said slide by rotating'said member.
2. A closure device for a receptacle, comprising an end piece on the rece tacle containing an aperture, a slide on sai end piece and containing an aperture positioned to register with the aperture in said end piece when said slide is in one posit-ion, an aper,
tured rotatory member on said end piece and interlocked with the latter to prevent separation therefrom, and means for imparting rectilinear movement to said slide by rota-t-u ing said member.

A closure device for a receptacle, comprising an end piece on the receptacle containing an aperture of a shape presenting a substantially straight Wall and an arc-shaped Wall extending from one end to the other of said straight Wall, a slide on said end piece and containing an aperture positioned to register with the aperture in said end piece when said slide is in one position, an apertured rotatory member on said end plece,`
and means forimating rectilinear movement to said slide y rotating said member.

A closure device for a receptacle comprising an'end piece on the receptacle conc taining an aperture' of a shape presenting a. substantially -straight Wally andl an arcshaped wall extending from one end. to the other of said straight wall, a slide on said end piece and containing a similarly shaped aperture positioned to register with the aperture in said end piece' when saidvslide is in one position, an apert-ured rotator member on said en d piece, and means for lmparting rectilinear movement to said slide by rotating said member.

A closure device for a receptacle, com-- prising an end piece on the receptacle con-l taining an aperture and a slide-receiving guide-recess, a slide in said recess and containin an aperture positioned to register `With t a aperture in said end piece whe `said slide is in one position, an aperturd rotatory member ony said end piece, and

A closure device for a receptacle, comprising an-end lpiece on the receptacle containing` an aperture,v'with its outer face recessed and forming a guide, a slide in said `recess and containing an aperture positioned to register with the aperture .in said end piece when saidgslide is' in one position, said slide containing a camming groove, a cap rotatable on. said end piece and interldcked with the latter to prevent separation therefrom, and a. pin on said cap extending into said -camming groove. for imparting rectilinear movement to said slide when said cap is rotated, said ca containingan aperture which registers 'with lthe aperture 1n said end piece when the aperture in said slide registers with thel latter.
