To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, Lnnor Rnmrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Collapsible Hanging .Seats, fully described and represented in the following specification, and the accompanying drawings, forming a part of the same.

This invention relates to certain improvements in collapsible and detachable seats which are designed for use in bathtubs and the like, or lunch counters and other situations where removable, foldable .or collapsible seats may he desired.

A special object of the invention is to produce such a seat which is easily and quickly folded up and removable from the place in which it is used, and which is adjustable so that it can be used in bath tubs or like situations where the incline of the wallet the tub varies, the seat being so arranged as to be substantially horizontal as used with the tub walls, the incline of which varies considerably, as, for instance, the end and side walls of a batl'itub of the usual configuration.

A further object of the invention is to providersuch a seat of simple form and of few parts so as to be cheap to manufacture :but at the same time durable and which when in position for-ms a rigid support.

With these and other objects not specilically referred to, the invention consists in certain novel parts, arrangements and combinations which will be described in conin the claims hereunto annexed.

In .the preferred embodiment of the in: vention, the improved device will include a seat 1 which may be of any desinableconfiguration of any suitable material, such as 310 a circular wooden disc. This seat has secured thereto a hanger support gby which the seat may be hung ,or suspended in the place desired. This hanger support may be of various configurations and secured 120 &5 the seat in various ways. as indicated at .11, to engage the bearings 10 and are then bent downwardly to form .95 legs 12 which are provided upwardly turned ends forming open hooks 13.

Also =p tal y secured t h sea i .3 b a d t t ce, i ons ru tons emibo ying nvent on, .r il ibes and arranged that it will have two points of connection with the hooked ends of the hanger support so that the brace will extend at difierent angles relatively to the seat, so that the seat may be adjusted to walls, as, for instance, the walls of a bathtub, which vary in inclination and yet remain horizontal when in adjusted position, the brace being positively connected. This brace may vary somewhat in construction and in the method tached to the bottom of the seat by taking bearing in the inturned ends 17 of brackets 18. The lower end 15 of this brace may be covered with rubber-or other pliable material 17 and is intended for attachment to the/hooks 13 of the hanger support Where the device is used with a wall but slightly ofi vertical, as shown in Fig. 2. 19, 20 are inturned at their inner ends to have a pivotal engagement with the end member 15 of the main brace member. cross piece 21 ofthis auxiliary brace is ar ranged for engagement with the hooks 13 of the hanger support, this adjustment being used where the wall with which the device is employed is sharply inclined, as shown in Fig. 1.

WVith this construction a very simple, effective and rigid seat is provided, which with but few parts, is cheap to manufacture, and which is easily adjusted to the desired position, and where desired the whole device may be removed and collapsed into small compass.

In Fig. 5 is illustrated a slight modification in the means for pivotally connecting the hanger support to the seat. As there shown, there is provided a U shaped rod 22 having outwardly extending ends 23,.and the arms 2, 3 of the hanger support are loosely looped around these ends, as indicated at 24, a somewhat simpler construction being provided by this modification, which may be usedunder some circumstances if desired.

WVhile the invention has been shown and described in its preferred form, it will be understood that certain changes and variations may be made in the specific construction illustrated without departing from the invention, as defined in the appended claims.

What I claim is: 1. In a device of the character described, the combination with a seat of a hanger sup port therefor, including a pair of spaced members hooked at their outer ends for suspending the device and pivotally connected The with the seat, securing devices on the members, an adjustable brace pivotally secured to the seat, and a second brace pivotally secured to the first brace, both of said braces being provided with means for detachably connecting either of them to the securing devices on the supporting members.

2. In a device of the character described, the combination with a seat of a hanger sup port therefor, including a pair of spaced rods, hooked shaped at their outer ends, for suspending the device and pivotally connected with the seat, said rods having hooked innerends, a brace frame pivotally connected with the seat and including side members and a cross member for removable engagement with the hooked inner ends of the hanger support, and a second brace member pivotally connected with the main brace and provided with means for removably engaging it with the hooked inner ends of the hanger support.

In a device of the character described, the combination with a seat of a hanger support therefor, including a pair of spaced side bars, hooked shaped at their outer ends, for suspending the device and pivotally connected with the seat, said bars having hooks on their inner ends, a brace frame pivotally connected with the seat and including side members and a cross member for removable engagement with the hooked inner ends of the hanger support, and a second brace frame pivotally connected with an end of the main frame and provided with cross pieces for engaging the hooked inner ends of the hanger support.

In a device of the character described, the combination with a seat of a hanger support therefor, including a pair of spaced rods, hooked shaped at their outer ends, for suspending the device and provided with hooks at their inner ends, a bar connected with the seat provided with hearing portions, said spaced rods of the hanger support being bent upon themselves to form a loop for engagen'ient with the bearing portions of the bar, and a brace pivotally connected with the seat and having brace members provided with spaced means for removably securing the brace to the hanger support at different angles relatively to the seat.
