Description

Nov. 3 1925. 1,560,074
A. H. FIELD CQIN HOLDER Filed June 21, 1923 Patented Nov. 3, iven.
UNITED stares PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT 11. FIELD, OF NEW YORK, n. Y.
COIN HOLDER.
Application filed June 21, 1923.
T0 aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT l'lf. Film), a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in (loin Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description 01 the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to in'iproveinents in coin holders of the type shown by my United States Patent No. lfititIQT-it, of March 13, 1953, the object being to in'iprovc upon the patented device by providing less expensive and more easily operated means for normally holding the coin delivery shitt inst accidental. rotation.
With the foregoing in view, the invention resides in the novel subject matter hereinat'ter described and claimed, the description being supplemented by the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is an inverted perspective view of a coin holder constructed in accordance with my invention.
Fig. 2 is a verti a-l sectional view.
Fig. 3 is an inverted perspective view of the casing and spring arm For holding the disk.
Fig. el-is a perspective view of the disk.
' In the drawings above briefly described, the numeral 1 designates a substantially flat circular casing whose bottom 2 and side wall 3 are cut away to some extent as indicated at t to permit access to a coin discharge disk 5 in said casing andto permit the coins to be discharged through the opening 4. The disk 5 is provided with coin receiving openings 6 which register with a plurality of openings 7 in a flat circular magazine 8 Which is housed within the eas- Serial No. 646,902.
ing in contact with its top-9. The disk 5 may also be turned to register with any of the openings '7 for the purpose of filling the latter with coins, one at a time.
The construction so tar briefly described ith the exception of the non rotatable top 9, is illustrated fully in the patent above re ferred to but it is the aim of the present application to protect an improved means for holding the disk 5 against accidental rotation, after each successive advancement: thereof for the purpose of discharging a coin. In carrying out this end, I stamp a spring arm 11 from the casing bottom 2, said arm preferably extending beyond one edge of the opening 4 as shown and having its free end bent to form a V-shaped detcnt 12 which is cooperable with grooves 13 in the disk 5 tor the purpose of holding the latter against accidental turning, but permitting it to be easily turned when desired.
By providing the construction shown and described, the device is simplified and may hence be more advantageously manutae tured, and furthermore it is less trouble some to turn the disk 5 when desired.
As excellent results may be obtained from the details disclosed, these details are preterably followed, but within the scope of the invention as claimed, minor changes may be made.
I claim A coin holder including a casing having a side plate provided with a discharge opening, a rotatable coin delivery disk spanning said opening and having circumferentially spaced stops, and a spring arm stamped from said side plate and having a detent cooperable with said stops to hold the disk in any desired position.
In testimony whereof" I have hereunto atfixed my signature.
ALBERT H. FIELD.
