SELF-CLEANSING CHIJVINEY-COWL.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 15,584, dated August 19, 1856.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, O. H. WA'rkINs, in the county of New York, State of New York, and a citizen of the United States, haveinvented a new and Improved mode of Self-Cleaning Chimney-Tops; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to de scribe its construction and operation.
A is a cylinder rising from the frustum of a cone K, upon A there is bolted two legs H H connected or welded to a spindle C,
passing through a revolving to-p B which is supported on the rest D, supported by two legs L L, on the revolving top B there is a vane E. The revolving top B resting on spindle O is turned by the action of the wind or vane E and causes the legs 0 C to rub against the rounded part of revolving top B and keep it clear or clean of soot or other substances that may collect on or about the inside of revolving top B.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- One or more legs H H having the circle of the revolving top B and connected with a common spindle C, as herein described and substantially set forth in my specification.
