Be it known that I, ARTHUR G. SLOOU'M, a citizen of'the United States, residing at Ensign, in the county of Gray and State of Kansas, have invented certainnew and useful' Improvements in 'Vaporizing Oil Burners, of whichthe following is a specification. I
This invention relates to a vaporizing oil burner, and particularly to a construction wherein the vapor is fed to a burner chamber in which equalization of pressure is secured before ignition and a consequent even jet produced at the burner orifice. In burners of this character the vaporized fuel is generally fed directly to the burnerby a conduit and this results in a projected jet of flame of varying intensity depending upon the degree of heat applied to the vaporizing chamber. A more desirable heating effect is secured by the use of a number of burner orifices from which the flame jets are projected by an even pressure due to the use of an equalizing chamber in the burner and a plurality of connections between said chamber and the vaporizer. In order to secure the most intense heating these connections are preferably disposed at the outer periphery of the vaporizing chamber so that in the use of an annular burner the heat is directly applied to the connections as Well as to the chamber and a completevaporization of thefuel thereby effected.
It is also desirable to provide an enlarged heating chamber inthe' feed connection to the vaporizer through which the liquid'fuel passes so that it is preliminarily heated and delivered over a wider area,thus avoiding any jet effect in projecting the'liquid into the vaporizing chamber and'resulting in a more rapid conversion of the liquid into its fluid form suitable for the burner.
The invention has for an object to provide a novel andim'proved construction of burner provided with jet orifices and an equalizing chamber communicating with a vapor chamber at a plurality of points so that the feed from the vaporizer is distributed throughout the burner.
Another object of the inventionis to provide an annular form' of burner having a" vaporizing chamber supported above the same with a central feed thereto and a plurality of connections'from the vaporizer to theburner disposed peripherally of theassociated members.
A further object of the invention is to provide a separable structure comprising" a" priming trough having av burner base sup-' v ported thereon, and a vapor zingfchamber having dependent therefrom I a burner head:
provided with a" plurality of orifices 'and peripherally disposed connections with the vaporizing chamber.
