PATENT 'NECKTIE HOLDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, BERNAT KEMENY, a citizen of Hungary, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in neckwear holders, and more particularly to a novel and improved necktie-holder.

It is the principal object of the invention to provide a simple and consequently inexpensive device allowing a ready knotting of the necktie and holding the same at all times snugly underneath the collar flaps, thus providing for a neat fit and perfect hold of the necktie.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a necktie holder allowing a permanent adjustment and tying of the necktie without the necessity of consulting a mirror, doing away with the necessity of tying the necktie anew every morning and consequently saving time and labor.

These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In the accompanying drawing, forming a material part of this disclosure:

Fig. 1 is a detail plan view of a wing or upper part of a holder constructed accord ing to my invention.

Fig. 7 is a detail view of a fastening device used with my improved necktie holder.

The necktie holder according to my invention is composed of three parts mainly, the upper or wing part 10 made from any suitable material and adapted to snugly fit under the flaps of a turned-down collar. This wing is providedin its center part with openings 11 and 12 adapted for the reception of suitable fastening means, as for instance the eyelet 13 illustrated in Figure 7 The intermediate or middle part of the holder illustrated in Figure 2 has near its upper end two openings 14 and 15 adapted to be brought into alignment with the openings 11. and 12 in the wing part and to be secured to the latter by means of the eyelets 13 in the usual well known manner.

The third or lower part of the holder illustrated in Figure 3 comprises a plate of substantially the shape illustrated having a central opening 16 for the passage of the collar button and ending in an elongated slot 17 above the opening. The plate 18 has also two lower openings 19 allowing the passage of a rubber band 20 or the like, which is also passed through the rounded recesses 21 and 22 in the side edges of part 23 of the holder and then secured to the upper eyelet 13.

It will be clear that over the holder plication of the and underneath a necktie can be tied and knotted before the apdevice to the collar button the collar flaps. If then the rubber band is placed into position the same will exert a pull upwardly directed and adapted to bend the upper part of the plate 18 and of the upper part of part 23 in the manner indicated at 24; and 25 respectivelyin the edge views shown by the side of Figures 3 and 2, so that the necktie will be held in position close to the collar.

It will be clear that the plate23 has also two openings 26, 27 adapted to be brought into alignment with openings 19 of part 18. In this manner a necktie holder is created which allows a folding or knotting of the necktie permanently to the holder so as to be always ready for use, and one which will at all times, when placed on a collar button, tend to press the wings of the upper part 10 under the collar flaps against the same thus providing at all times for a neat appearance and a device which will save the fabric of the tie from injuries and wear, thus apt to prolongate the life of the tie considerably, while imparting to the same at all times a neat appearance and firm hold. Changes may be made such as fall within the scope of the appended claim without departure from the spirit of my invention.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: j

A necktie holder comprising an upper perforated wing part adapted to fit underneath he flaps of a turn-down collar, a recessed middle part having perforations adapted to he brought into alignment With the perforations in said Wing part, eyelets having Wings adapted to be passed through the aligned perforations and having their Wings bent upon the rear face of said Wing part, and a, lower perforated and slotted part, a rubber band adapted to be passed through the perforations of said lower part and the recesses 01" the middle part and to be secured to the securing means of the Wing part, saidslot in the lower part elongated to allow the passage of the collar button therethrough and the displacement of its shank in the elongated part of the slot towards the top forhendi-ng the upper ends of the lower and the middle part to produce a firm hold of the device and snug fit under the flaps of the collar.
