Be it known that 1, JOHN K. Down, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oakland, in the county of Alameda and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rabbit Hutches, of which the following is a specification.

My invention is an improved sectional rabbit hutch which is sanitary and efiicient in use and may be readily constructed in as many sections as desirable. Two sections may be faced together to form a closed'rabbitry or they may be left open as desired.

Referring to the annexed drawings in which my invention is illustrated and which forms a part of this specification:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my rabbit hutch complete.

Figure 2 is a fragmentary horizontal section of my rabbit hutch taken on line 22 v of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a perspective view of one of the water troughs.

Figure 4 is an inside elevation of one side member of the hutch.

Figure 5 is a transverse vertical section of the hutch taken on line 55 of Figure 4.

Figure 6 is a fragmentary vertical section of one of the feed bins.

My rabbit hutch may be constructed with sidemembers 1 and 2 spaced a short distance apart and closed at the ends by end walls 3 and 4 and covered at the topby a roof 5. A door 6 may be provided in the end wall 4 communicating with the space 7 between said side members 1 and 2. Each of the side members 1 and 2 is made in sections 8 and9 arranged end to end. Each of said sections is divided into a plurality of superimposed compartments 10 and a plurality of superimposed compartments 11,

sions 14 extend vertical screens 16 to the said compartments, and the compartments 10 and 11 being separated by vertical walls 13., The outer ends of the compartments 10 and 11 of sections 8 are formed at their outer ends of the compartments 10 and 11 of sections 9 are formed at their inner sides with oifsets 15 to meet the extensions 14 of adjacent sections 8; Across the exteninner ends of the end walls of the sections 8 extending from top to bottom through which hay is drawn. Across the ends of the offsets 15 extend vertical screens 17. In the extensions 14 are secured a plurality of superimposed angle plates 18 extending transversely of said extensions and downwardly to the screens 16. In the extensions 15 are secured a plurality of superimposed angle plates19extending transversely of said extensions and downwardly to the screens 17. The plates 18 in the extension at the outer end of the sections 8 form the lower wall 19 of sections 9 and form superimposed feed bins 21 which communicate by screens 16 and 17 with the adjoining compartments of said sections 8 and 9. The plates 18 and 19 have flanges 22 and 23 extending upwardly from the lower edges of said plates into the compartments of the sections 8 and 9, which flanges form feed troughs for the rabbits to eat from. Urine troughs 24 are located under the partitions 13 of compartments 10 and 11 partly under each of said compartments and extending downwardly through the outer side walls 25 of the sections 8 and 9. The outer ends of said troughs 24 are closed or opened by sliding doors 26. The

troughs 24 are covered by screens 27 flush with the floors of the compartments 10 and 11. Sliding water troughs 28 extend through the inner side walls of the sections 8 and 9 directly over the troughs 24 and are divided by partitions 29 into two compartments 30 and 31 which compartments rest in the section compartments 10 and 11. The partitions are spaced from the floor to allow the flow of water through the compartments.

Doors 32 and 33 are provided on the inner side of the compartment 10, the door 33 closing the upper compartments and the door 32 closing the lower compartment. Doors 34 and 35 are provided in the inner side of the compartment 11, the doors 34 closing the two lower compartments and the doors 35 closing the upper compartments. Screens 36 are provided in the inside walls of the sections 8 and 9 between the doors 32 and 34 and the doors 33 and 35 of said compartments.
