`To all whom it may concern Be it known that L WALTER R. VVILsoN, a citizen of the United States7 residing at Oakland, in the county of Alameda and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Coops, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to coops and it consists in the novel features hereinafter described and claimed.

An object of the invention is to provide a metallic coop of simple structure the same being adapted to confine poultry within space of limited area or extent.

With this object in'view the coop comprises a frame within which is arranged a series of cages each cage having a door of especial design and construction. Each cage is provided with a false bottom of foraminous material below which is located a detachable pan.

In the accompanying drawing -Figure 1 is a perspective view of the coop. The other figures are detailed viewsof the several features thereof.

The frame of the coop comprises uprights 1 formed of angle iron and split at their lower ends and disposed laterally forming feet 2. The uprights 1 at the forward side of the coop are connected together by bars 3 which are also cut from angle iron and immediately above the bars 3 except the uppermost bars of the set are located similar bars 4 which. are connected at their ends with the upright 1. The uprights 1 at the corners of the coop and at the sides thereof are connected together at the sides and rear of the coop by hars 5 also of angle iron. Rods `6 are secured to the upper and lower bars and pass transversely through the intermediate bars 5. Sheet metal pans 9 are adapted to fit slidably between the adjacent bars 3 and 4 and each pan is provided at its ends with a handle 10. Rods 11 are disposed approximately parallel with the bars 4 and located approximately midway between the bars 4 and the forward and rear sides of the coop. Foraminous false bottoms l2 rest upon the rods 11 and the inwardly disposed flanges of the bars 4 and constitute the floors of the cages upon which the fowls stand. f

The opposite Side portions of the section 14 are connected together by rods 15. A plate 16 is attached to the intermediate portion of the section 14 and a plate 17 is attached to the rods of one of the sets 13. The plate 17 supports a keeper 18 and the plate 1G supports a catch 19 which is adapted to engage the said The lower portions of the uprights 1 extend below the bottoms of the lowermost cages as above described and constitute legs upon which the coop structure is su ported. Braces 20 are interposed between t e lowermost bars 3 and the lower portions of the uprights land braces 21 are located at the ends of the coop and connect the front and rear corner uprights 1 together. Therefore it will be seen that a coop structure of simple arrangement is provided and that the cages are compactly assembled and may confine a number of fowls in limited area or space.
