To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, REGINALD C. PRYOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Houghton, in the county of Hou'ghton and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Seesaws, of which the following is a specification.

My said invention relates to an amusement device and it is an object thereof to combine in one structure a seesaw having seats at opposite ends, means for ascending to the seats, and also a support or swing at the intermediate portion forming a part of such means.

A further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character described which shall be simple and inexpensive but yet strong and safe in use.

Referring to the accompanying drawings which are made a part hereof and on which similar reference characters indicate similar parts,

Figure 1 is a side elevation of the device, and

Figure 2 a vertical central section thereof.

In the drawings 10 indicates the main bars of the seesaw each of which may be re-enforced as indicated at 11 and 12. Cleats 13 and 14 act to limit the movement of the seesaw as hereinafter described and extend across members 10, 11 and 12 to which they are rigidly attached. At its opposite ends the bars 10 carry seats 15 and 16 adjustable longitudinally thereof, as by pins entering holes in the bars. A pair of suspending members 17 are attached to the members 10, 11 and 12 midway between their ends and are pivotally supported on a frame comprising a pair of A-shaped devices with inclined posts 18 and 19 and cross bars 20. Inclined props 21 extend outward from each of the posts 18 and are attached thereto at the upper ends of the props.

The entire supporting structure is braced at the sides by horizontal braces 22, 23 and inclined braces 24 attached rigidly to the posts 18, and to the props 21 in any convenient manner.

Each one of posts 18 has attached thereto near its upper end a depending bar 25, the bars being connected at their lower ends by horizontal bars 26 and slats 27 running transversely of said horizontal bars. These bars 26 and slats 27 form a swing, step, or support near the ground. Ladders 28 extend diagonally upward from this step and r are connected at the upper end to horizontal gangways' 29 leading to the seats 15 and 16 and connected by cross slats. The gangways 29 are pivotally supported. at their inner ends on bars 25 and at their outer ends on links 30 depending from the extreme ends of bar 10.

In the operation of the device children may first step on the horizontal support co1ning motion, Figure 1 showing the parts in neutral position in dotted lines and in one extreme position in full lines. It will be seen from the full line position that the parts 13 and 1 1 strike against the adjacent posts and limit the movement of the seesaw.

It will be evident that various changes may be made in the device of my invention without departing from the spirit thereof,

the true scope of the invention being inclicated in the appended claims.

Having thus fully describe-d my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. In an amusement device a supporting structure, a seesaw pivoted thereon and ladder structures leading to the ends of the seesaw and swingingly supported at each end to swing with the same, substantially as set forth.

2. In an amusement device a supporting structure, a seesaw centrally pivoted there on, a seat at each end of the seesaw, a swinging step depending from said supporting structure and gangways leading from the step to the ends of the seesaw, substantially as set forth.

3. In an amusement device, a supporting structure, a seesaw centrally depending therefrom, a swing depending from said supporting structure and gangways pivoted to the swing and leading from said swing to the ends of the seesaw, substantially as set forth.

4. In an amusement device, a supporting frame having oppositely inclined sides, a seesaw comprising main bars supported by 5 the frame, and longitudinally extending reinforcing bars therefor, means securing the side bars and reenforcing members together adapted to alternately engage the said in- 5 clined sides of the supporting frame to limit the movement of the seesaw, substantially as set forth.

5. In an amusement device, a supporting structure comprising A-shaped side members, a seesaw centrally pivoted thereon, seats adjacent the ends of the seesaw, bars depending from the A-shaped members, a horizontal swinging support at the lower ends of the bars, gangways connected to said bars and to the ends of the seesaw and lad- 15 ders leading from the horizontal support to said gangways, substantially as set forth.
