GAME.
Application filed September 12, 1922. Serial No 58'7,697.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, THEODORE H. (tier-11:01: and Greece L. Sermon, citizens of the United States, residing at Albion, in the county of Orleans, State of New York, have invented a new and useful Game; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to snake and use the same.
The invention relates to games of the checkered surface type and has for its object to provide a game of this character having a plurality of adiacent spaces in transverse alignment at right angles to each other and a plurality of discs for opposing players, each player positioning the discs on the board with the object of. preventing the opposing player from placing discs transversely ofthe board in alignment,
With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawing, described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spiritol the invention.
In the dra.win;r:
Figure l is a lan view of the game board.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the game boa d showing the same folded.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of two of the discs, which discs are of different color.
l k-itcrring to the drawing. the numeral 1 designates a rectangular shaped game board which is preferably formed from two sections 2, which are hingedly connected to- (IQ-H19! at thereby allowing the board to be stored when not in use. The board is provided with a. plurality or spaces 4, which spaces are in alignment at right angles. thereby allowing a plurality of discs 5 and G to he placed on the spaces 4: in such a man-- ner that they will be in alignment at right angles to each other. The discs 5 and 6 of opposing players are difl 'erently colored, and the players alternately place discs on the spaces a with the object of securing a straight line of cliscs extending across the board, and in such a manner as to block the other player from securing'a straight line of discs. The alignmentoi the discs is transversely of the board and not diagonal, for instance from A to B, D to C or B to A, or A to B It will be noted that each player plays at a right angle with the object of securing a straight line of iscs at a right angle to the direction of play of the opponent. The player who first secures a straight line 0t discs extending entirely across the board wins the game.
The board transversely is provided with six spaces and as each player is provided with ten discs, it is obvious that considerable maneuvering may be done in anattempt to block each opponent against securing; a straight line 0t discs across the board.
The invention having been. set forth what is claimed as new and useful is A. game comprising; a game board. a plurality of spaces carried by the game board, said spaces being; sir: in alignment at right angles and adaptedto receive ten discs, said discs being; adapted to be aligned by oppos inn players, with the object ot securing: astraight line of six discs entirely across the board at a right angle to the direction (it play of opponent without being blocked by the opposing player, said players playing at right angles to each other.
In testimony whereof we have signed our names to this specification in the presence of two subscribing; witnesses.
