An object of my invention is to provide a process for renovating or redecorating floor coverings and the like, of which linoleum and oil cloth are examples.

The stippling may be accomplished in any number of colors, and by any suitable means such as by employing' asponge that is dipped in the color and then placed lightly upon the surface of the ground 5. The material used for so-stippling the linoleuni may be vWater an oil paint. lVater color has been yfound to give very good results. After the coloring applied by the stippling process has dried, a coat of varnish 7 is applied over the treated surface. After the varnish has driedthe linoleuin may be washed up as is coniinoii practice with linoleums not so treated. y i
