IMPROVEMENT IN CHURNS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 53,141, dated July 14,1874; application filed May 2, 1874.
To allwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I. ROBERT B. WILsoN, of Grinnell, in the county of Poweshiek and State of Iowa, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Ohurns; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawing is a vertical section. Fig. 2 is a transverse section thereof. Fig. 3 is a detail.

and it consists, mainly, in providing the box bars, 6, and being constructed to slide in or on ways into the cream-chamber, between the center and each end thereof, to act upon the cream when its forward and sidewise motion, caused by the pitch of the rockers, are most violent.
I have preferably illustrated in the drawings rockers E of short and high curvature, the curve of each rocker being ellipsoidal or flattened at one end, and reversed in position with reference to the other.
Rockers of diiferent forms, well adapted to produce the secondary lateral throw of the cream, will readily occur to the mind. I do not, therefore, desire to confine myself to the form or arrangement herein shown.
. What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A churn having rockers eccentric to each other, giving the churn an irregular rocking motion, substantially as set forth.
