HEADGEAR FOR HOLDING FLASH LIGHTS.
Application filed September 12, 1924. Serial No. 737,321.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE A. PARKER,
a citizen of the United States, residentof Brockton, in the county of Plymouth and 6 State of Massachusetts, have made a certain new and useful Invention in Headgear for Holding Flash Lights; and I declare the following to be av full, clear, and exact de scription of the same, such as will enable others skilledin the art to which it appertains to make and use the invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part'of this specification.

The invention has relation to headgear for holding an electric flash-light for the use of motorists and others designed to per- 35 mit the light being turned in various directions, and it consists in the novel construction and combinations of parts as hereinafter set forth. y
In the accompanying drawings illustrating the invention, the numeral 1 designates a headband having an elastic part or insert and having an enlarged or circular front portion 2 to vwhich is attached or stitched a leather disk 3, whereon is pivoted by rivet 4 a horizontal meta-l loop 5. At the outer ends of the branches of the loop 5, are pivoted at 6 the outer ends of the branches of a second metal loop 7, depending from the loop 5 and fitting within the same, the pivots 6 being at right angles to the pivot 4.
Fitting within the inner loop 7 and having close frictional spring engagement with the branches thereof is an electric flashlight 8, the inner end of which is adapted to contact at 9 with the aforesaid leather disk 3, and the middle portion of which is supported by said inner loop 7, so that any downward movement of the flashlight is prevented by both said inner loop and said leather disk, the latter having a broad bearing upon the forehead of the wearer of the headgear to distribute the weight.

I claim 1. In headgear for holdingflashlights, a headband having an enlarged and reinforced front portion, an outer metal 100 secured to said front portion, an inner meta loop pivoted to and depending from the outer ends of the branches of said outer loop and being adapted to have close spring engagement with the middle portion of an electric flashlight to support the same,'said front portion being adapted to form a bearing for the inner end of said flashlight, said inner loop being adjustable u on its to tilt said flashlight upwar ly or wardlIy.
