ARNOLD HANAK, OF VIENA, AUSTRIA.
BRACE.
Application filed April 19, 1924. Serial No. 707,738.
To all whom z't may concern.'
Be it known that I, ARNOLD I-IANAK, a citizen of the Republic of Austria, residing at Vienna, Austria, have iii-vented certain new and useful Improvements in Braces (for which I filed an application for patent in Germany on February l0, 1923), of which the following is a specification.`
This invention relates to improvements in braces made of india rubber.
In the manufacture of braces either rubbered fabric has hitherto been used or rubber without interwoven fabric the straps being made with circular holes. Neither of these articles, however, were fully satisfactory as regards elasticity and permeability of the warmth of the body; if rubbered fabric is used the elasticity is limited by the cotton threads; a further disadvantage consists in that the bearing straps becomes warm by friction, and being of non-porous material will not allow the warmthv and moisture of the body to be dissipated.
The latter inconvenience also occurs when rubber braces without interwoven fabric are used owing to the fact, that the straps will fit tightly to the body thereby rendering the use of such braces very disagreeable particularly in summer or in countries having a hot climate.
Moreover the manufacture of the said articles is not sufficiently simple and the costs are rather high.
This invention relates to braces or suspenders of high elasticity in which the above mentioned drawback of impermeability is overcome by the provision of appropriately sized longitudinal slots in the shoulder stra-p portions narrow ribbons being formed therebetween, the walls of said slots functioning to stretch and contract` Vwith the movements of the body in those portions of the sus 'i In the strap A which consists of india rubber slots B, B1, B2, B3 and so on punched narrow ribbons C, C1, C2, 0 and so on being forme-d thereby. t
Similar bearing straps may b-e used fol' suspending stockings and socks. What I claim is:
An article of manufacture, a garment sus Y f pender including shoulder' strap portions made integrally of asingle piece of indiarubber having the entire length of the .Y
Shoulder' strap portions formed with longi' tudinal slots of appreciable width, forming between them relatively narrow spaced strips.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set v my hand.
