To all whom it may concern: i
Be it known that WALTER H. Referring more particularly to the drawing, the shoe 1 has the usual upper '2, which is parted in front, and has 'the interlocking is already well known and described in the wardly, thus'parting the upper.
Having described my invention, I claim: 45

The flaps 4 and -5 have a plurality of, holes 6 -6 extending along the edge thereof, and a plurality of liO1BS-77 are provided adjacent the opening of the upper 2. Laces 8 and 9 are adapted to extend between the holes 6 and 7 thus bringing the upper snugly about the foot. In this way any stretch in the shoe may be eliminated so that it will always fit snugly about the ankle. 1
