To obtain and maintain'the desired'effect of presenting the bust-heads of the dolls as it they were seated on'the box lids inthe midst of lthe apparently air inflated shirred material, a considerable amount of iilling, such as cotton batting, or the like, mustbe inserted between the'boX lid andtheshirred material which elevates the latterto such Yan extent that if the bustof the doll head were mounted directly on the lid inthe midst of the shirred material7 the latter would cover the arms and hands and thus the desired eiliect in appearance would be spoiled.
