IMPROVEMENT IN CLOTHES-FRAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 1 51,037, dated May 10, 1874; application filed March 28, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LAFAYETTE MAGEE, of Olean, in the county of Oattaraugus and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Clothes-Frame, of which the following is a specification:
The invention is an improvement in the class of. clothes-racks adapted to be suspended from a vertical wall, and composed of a series of parallel bars joined by horizontal rods. The invention consists in the construction and arran gement hereinafter described, whereby two clothes-suspending frames may be set in an inclined position, the upper and overhanging frame being supported on the lower one, and both folding together when not in use.
The drawing is a perspective view of my improved clothes-hanger.

A represents the vertical bars, and B the cross-bars, of the frame, for hanging against the wall of the room. 0 represents the side bars, and D the cross-bars, of the upper projecting clothes-frame, which is pivoted to the upper cross-bar B, and it has braces E at the outer side, to rest on one of the cross-bars, F, of another projecting frame, of which the side bars G are pivoted to the middle cross-bar of the hanging frame, and also having braces H resting on the lower cross-bar of said hanging frame when it is to project for use. Both of the projecting frames have a hanging frame, J K, suspended from the front side.-
The whole arrangement affords a large spread for hanging the clothes on, and so that, by lifting the braces H and E from the rests, the projecting frames will hang fiat down by the side of the hanging frames.
There may be more of the projecting frames,
if desired; but, probably, two will be the most
