To all whom it may concern: ering 2 of the insulating material, 3 a spark Be it known that I O'rro C. ROHDE, a plug, and 4 a terminal stud on the outer end citizen of the United S tates, and a resident of the central electrode of the spark plug, of Toledo, Lucas County, and State of Ohio, the stud in the, present instance being ta- 5 have i made an Invention A pertaining to pered at its outer end and having a circumto Terminal Clamps; and I do ereby dec are ereutial groove 5. the following to, be a full, clear, and exact The termlnal clamp embodying the predescription of the invention, such as will enfer-red form of the invention comprises a able others skilled in the art to which it apferrule member 6, which is in the form of a pertains to make and use the same, refersocket to ada pt 1t to be slipped over an end on ence'being had to theaccompan ing drawof the wire 1nsulat1on 2 and hasits closed ings, and to the characters 0 reference end provided with a central a erture 7 marked thereon, which form a part of this through which the terminal end 0 the wire ifi ti 1 may project, beyond the insulating ma- 1 This invention relates to terminal clamps terlal, such wire end bem soldered or other- 70 for electrical conductors, and is intended wise mtimately connecte with the ferrule particularly-for use in connection with the to form a erfect electrical connection lead wires of s ark plugs. therewlth. e side wall of the ferrule The object o m invention is the provimember 6 is longitudinally slotted at insion of a simple an inexpensive clamp of the 'tervals to form the sides of the ferrule with 76 class described, which is adapted to be easily a plurality of spring fingers for yieldin enand securely connected in a permanent mangagement with the wire insulation and avner to a cable or wire end and to form a mg their free ends turned outward to a socket ca able of releasable yielding engagesll ghlt extent, as shown at 8.

In this case the clam is secured to the wire insulation by turning the free edge of the body member, designated 9, in around the adjacent end edges of the ferrule member 6 to the wire insulation and also to force the ends of the ferrule fingers into holding e ent therewith.
It is evident that I have provided a simple and eflicient terminal clamp which is ca able of being plie to the end 0 a lead wire and which is also capable of being releasahly engaged with the terminal stud ornut.
I wish it understood that my'inve'ntion isnot limited to any s cific construction, erran ment or form 0 the Earts, as it is capab e of numerous modi cations and chan other than those illustrated, without e ing from the spirit of the claim.
Having thus described my invention, what easily and qu cldy ap- Igclaim as new, and desire tosecure by Letters Patent, is,--
4 terminal clam including a tubular cyl ndrical body, su tantially one half of which is of reduced diameter to form an internal shoulder between the ends of the body, a ferrule received over an end of a term nal w re and having a closed end and provided with axial slits extendin through the opposlte end of the ferrule, t e lar r diametered part of the cylindrical bod mg engaged over the ferrule with the 0 used end of the latter abutting said shoulder, and having an 'aaial slit and its free end formed to engage with the free end ortions of the ferru e, the part of the ha y of reduced diameter having a pair of diametrically opposed aaial shtsto form apair of legs of substantially seml-circular cross-section, and each of the legs having an inwardly extending detent.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name to this specification.
