Description

A. STERN CLIP HOLDER FOR BABY CARRIAGES June a, 1924. 1,496,388
Filed July 17, 1922 INVENTOR .5 Mg, & ATTORNEY Patented June 3, 1924.
UNITED STATES ALBERT s'rmm, on NEW YORK, -N. Y.
CLIP HOLDER FOR BABY CARRIAGES.
Application filed July 17,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT STERN, a citizen of Hungary, having declared my intention of becoming a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Clip Holder for Baby Carriages, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a cover clip and holder for baby carriages and. the object is to'provide a highly efficient device of this character, possessing special utilities as will appear.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof:
Fig. 1 is a perspective View of a baby carriage, with a blanket or cover'over the interior of its body, the end of the cover being disposed over the rolled end edge of the body where it is caught by a couple of the clips;
Fig. 2 1s a vertical section through the wall of the body and a portion of the cover,
showing the clip in edge elevation; and
Fig. 3 is an elevation of the clip looking at right angles to Fig. 2.
The clip A is formed from a band of spring metal or other suitable material which is bent into a substantially round,
or somewhat laterally flattened or compressed 'loop 1, the form and proportions of whic adapt it to embrace the rolled edge a of the end wall I) of the body 0 of a 85 baby carriage, together with the end portion of the cover d, as seen in Fig. 2.
The inner terminal of the 100 is curled to form a foot 2 immediately a jacent the restricted mouth of the loop. This foot 40 overlies the cover where it passes inward 1922. Serial No. 575,725.
and forward from the cli over the interior of the body, restraining tie same from ris ing above a level sufliciently below the top of the body for protection, while allowing proper room for the infant and its pillow, or other bedding, and covers.
The outer terminal of the loop is'prolonged substantially straight downward, forming a limb 3, which presses against the outer side of the wall of the body and the interposed end of the cover. This extended frictional clasp beneath the overhang of the roll a insures that the cover will not become loosened either by the wind orkicking of the infant. Its extremity bent outward and upward into an open hook 4 affords a. finger catch for drawing the clip down, besides roviding a support whereon to hang a ban bag or-other parcel B in order to relieve the person pushing the carriage. A pair of the clips will usually be used as shown, and their hook portions located below and immediately in front of the handle e of the carriage are of manifest convenience.
What is claimed asnew is:
A baby-carriage clip holder comprising asubstantially clrcularly looped resilient band adapted to embrace the edge of a baby-carriage body and the end of a cover or robe, the inner terminal of the loop being a short out-turned foot to standabove the inward stretch of the robe, and the outer extremity having a downwardly prolonged flat limb overhung by the outer side of the loop to press against the outer side of the body wall, and an outwardly and upwardly bent hook at the extremlty of said limb.
ALBERT STERN.
