I claim as my invention:
1. In. a meter, the combination of an integral casing having a top plate and forming a disc chamber with water inlet and water outlet, a gear train, a frame suspended from said top plate and supporting the gear train in the casing, amt a bottom plate imper'forate except for a shaft opening formed with :1 depending and out-turned flange which forms with the casing a joint which is permeable but not suflicient to perneeaari mit the foi'mation of Washing currents of Water about the gear tram.
2. In a meter the combination of an integral casing having a top plate and formmg a disc chamber with Water inlet and Water outlet, a gear train, a frame suspended from said top plate and supporting the gear train in the casing, a bottom plate imperforate except for a shaft opening secured to said frame and having a depending and outturnecl flange, and a gasket supported by the out-turned flange and forming "with the casing a joint which is permeable but not sufficient to permit the formation of washing currents about the gear train.
