Referring now more particularly to the drawings, my device comprises a frame member having a base 10 from which, rise legs 11, cross pieces 12 and side pieces 13 being mounted on said legs whereby a cradle is formed. Suspended within the aforesaid cradle is a shaft 14 upon which are mounted spiders 15-15,.16
and 17. Sheets of any desired material are wrappedaround these spiders to form cylindrical surfaces 18, 19, and thereabout,
respectively. In this connection it will be noted thatthe cylinders 19 and 20 are so mounted on an enlarged collar portion of the left hand spider 15 and are so locked against longitudinal movement therealong by a collar 21 that said cylinders 19 and 20 may be rotated independently of the eyla inder 18. Again as will be noted from 5 and 6 in connection with Fig. 3,. the outer ring portion of the spider 16 is provided with aplurality of circumferentially extending sockets or pits 22 while the outer ring portion of the spider 17 has mounted thereupon a spring member 23, havin associated therewith a detent 24 whic is adapted to be biased normallyinto the sockets 22 to hold the cylinders 19 and 20 together unless sufiicient. force is exerted whereby one may be moved in relation to the other, the detent 24 then slippin over the sockets 22 by reason of the flexibi ity of the spring 23. The purpose of this construction will be hereinafter more fully set forth. A knob or handle 25 is provided at each end of the shaft 14 whereby the cylinder 18 may be rotated when desired.

- From the foregoing description it will be obvious'to those skilled in the art that I have'provided' a device wherein all of the necessary calculations for finding the interest ona designated principal are made calculation is so combined with the interest calculating function of my machine that an extremely simple. and compactdevice ensues.

'While I have described but one embodiment of myinvention it is obvious that many modifications therein may occur to those skilled in. the art andI desire, therefore, that my invention be considered in its broadest aspects and be limited. only by the showing of the prior art and by the scope, of the appended claims.
Having thusdescribed my invention what I now claim asnew' and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. An interest calculating devicecomprising' a rotatable cylinder having groups of figures arranged thereupon in columns and rows, the groups of figures in each of said columns representing interest sums for principalspossessing the same significant figure and at different interest rates for different interest periods and the groups of figures in each of said rows representing interest sums for principals of all amounts and for designated significant figures, a register bar whereby selected rows comprising said groups of figures maybe exhibited, a decimal indicator adjacent to said register, a dial having arranged thereon figures representing multiples of principal amounts, and a pointer playing over said dial and adapted to move said decimal indicator in accord with the interest bearing principal in order to automatically position the decimal point on the interest amount corresponding to the interest bearing principal.
2. An interest calculating crevice comprising rotatable cylinder on the surface of which interest periods measured in time are arranged in alignment with interest on amounts in the form of principals tor various interest bearing principals, a transverse bar upon which interest rates are arranged, means for moving said cylinder with said transverse bar relatively to each other in order to move predetermined interest periods in alignment with the desired rates of interest whereby the interest amounts for the desired principal maybe determined, a register where said interest amount may be exhibited, an indicator upon which figures are arranged in alinement with the columns of figures representing interest amounts, pointers severally aiiined to said figures on said indicator for locating the decimal point in the interest amount exhibited at said register, a dial having arranged thereon figures representing multiples of principal amounts, and a pointer playing over said dial and adapted to move said indicator in accord with the value of the interest bearing principal.
3. An interest calculating device comprising a rotatable cylinder on the surface of which interest periods are grouped in columns representing various rates of interest and in alignment with said interest periods are grouped interest amounts arranged in columns that represent interest bearing principals oi the nine possible significant numbers, a register bar where interest amounts may be exhibited by rotating said cylinder relative thereto, an indicator adjacent to said register bar for indicating the decimal point in said interest amount, and means for eating said indicator in accord with the interest bearing principal upon which the interest value tor the proper interest period is desired.

In a machine of the character described comprising a rotatable cylinder having circumferentially arranged thereupon divisions which are labeled with the days of a calendar year and separate figure columns adjacent thereto each for a designated interestrate, the figures representing interest periods, means adjacent to said divisions comprisino' a plurality of rotatable discs hearing respectively divisions representing the days of a year and divisions numbered from zero to 365 whereby the interest period between two dates may be indicated and the proper figure of: said columns may be thereupon selected. said cylinder at the end opposite irom said divisions also bearing separate columns of interest amounts each for a designated significant figure, the amounts being in horizontal alignment with their corresponding figures representing interest periods, and a horizontal fixed indicator bar extending over the width of said cylinder and discs.
In a device for determining the interest mount on a given principal, a surface having a plurality of columns of figures thereupon representing interest amounts, a 7'6" ry bar extending t ansversely of said said surface and said bar being colu :elativel mvable whereby said bar may be brought into registry with any row of figures in aid columns, a decimal bar for determining" the position of the decimal point in said registered row of figures, a dial. and a eooperatine pointer for moving said decimal bar in accordance with the position of the first integer of said principal with respect to the decimal point.
6, In a device for determining the interest amount on a given principal. a surface having a plurality of columns of figures thereupon. a registry bar extending transversely of said columns, said surface and said bar being relatively movable whereby said bar may be brought into registry with any row of figures in said columns wherefrom the figures of said interest amount may be read, and means adjustable in accordance with the position of the first inteper in said principal with respect to the decimal point to indicate the position of the decimal point in said interest amount.
7. In a device for determining the interest on a given principal. a surface havinga plurality of columns of figures thereupon, a registry bar extending transversely of said columns. said surface and said bar being relatively movable whereby said bar may be brought into registry with any row.
of figures in said columns, indicating means to determine the position of the decimal point in said registered row of figures in accordance with the first significant figure of the principal bearing sum, and means comprising: a rack portion on said indicating means and a gear, the latter being movable to a plurality of positions corresponding to the position of the first figure of the principal with respect to the decimal point, for moving said indicating means to designate the position of the decimal point in the interest read from said registered row of figures.
8. In a device for determining the interest on a given principal for a given interest period of time and at a given interest rate, a surface having a plurality of columns of figures thereupon, a registry bar extending transversely of said columns, said surface and said bar being relatively movable whereby said bar may be brought into registry with any row of figures in said 001- umns wherefrom the figures of said interest amount may be read, means comprising an" indlcator movable to posltionscorrespond ing to each column for determining the position of the "decimal points in the registered row of each column, the columns from which the interest amount is read on said rows being determined by the significant figure in said principal, a dial having arranged thereon figures representing 1nultiples of principal amounts, and a pointer playing over said dial and adapted to move said indicators as a unit in accordance with the vposition of the significant figure of the principal with respect to the decimal point.
9. An interest calculating device comprising a rotatable cylinder on thesurface of which figures representing interest periods are arranged in alinement with figures rep resenting interest amountsthat in turn are arranged in nine columns corresponding to the nine significant figures representing in- H terest' bearing principal amounts; "a transverse bar upon which figures representing interestrates are arranged in coincidence with columns comprising the interest-period figures arranged on said cylinderra' register bar whereat said 1nterest-amount figures may be exhibited; means for efl'ecting relative movement between said cylinder and said register bar in order that predetermined interest-period figures may be alined with the desired interest-rate figures in order that the interest amount for the desired principal interest rate and interest period may be determined; a decimal indicator upon which figures representing the first significant figures of interest bearin principals are arranged to subtend the sai columns of interest-amount figures on said cylinder, said decimal indicator figures representing the first significant figure of the interest bearing principals having severally afiixed thereto indicators for locating the decimal points in the interest'amonnt figures exhibited at said register bar; a dial having arranged thereon figures representing muitipies oi: said interest-bearing principal amounts: pointer nla *in? over i A L said dial and adapted to niovesaid decimal indicator in accordance with the amount of the interest bearing principal.
