To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN K. GREEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Triple-Anchored Anchor Bolts, set forth in the following specification.

This invention relates to a new anchorage or anchor bolt for use for safety devices for window cleaners, and is of a type to be employed in the new method of applying anchorages for such purpose, as is described in my prior Patent No. 1,283,156, granted October 29, 1918.

The object of the invention is generally to improve an anchorage for direct application to a window frame, and more specifically it is an object to improve the construction of the anchorage in such a manner as to lessen the carpenter work necessary to fit a staffbead in position. It is further the object of the invention to improve the anchorage, so as to embrace a larger number of surfaces of the window frame to which it is to be attached. In one respect, it is the object of the invention to provide for triple anchora e.

The manner in which the objects of my invention are accomplished, will be understood from the illustrative embodiments of my invention, to which the accompanying claims are directed, merely for purposes of illustration. These embodiments are described below in connection with the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, in which like characters designate corresponding parts in the several figures and in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view with parts broken away, showing the application of my anchorage to a window frame;

Fig. 2 is a section shown partly in plan through the median plane of my anchorage; and

Fig. 3 is similar to Fig. 2, but showing a modification.

In its preferred form the body portion A is an elongated fiat webportion at the inner end of which is preferably formed a right angle ear 3 to embrace the surface 4 of the window frame 1 and 1921. serial No. 457,594.

to which it may be attached by a suitable screw 5 passing through a perforation 6 in the ear 3. 1

For some purposes the ear 3 is omitted as illustrated in Fig. 3, and a perforation 60 is provided in the end of the body portion A to accommodate a screw 50 as indicated.

Toward the forward end of the body portion A are preferably provided one or more frame with the pulley stile 21, making a most secure anchorage.

Mid-positioned on the wing portion 7 is a buttress portion 10 having a vertical fiat face 11 adapted to fit against the vertical edge 12 of a staff bead 13. This fiat face 11 obviates the necessity of mortising out a pocket in the staff bead to finish off the applied anchorage.

At the outer portion of the buttress portion 10 a right angle web 14 forms an ear to engage the inner surface 15 of the window frame, to which it is preferably secured by a suitable screw 16 passing through a suitable perforation 17 into the portion 15 of frame 1. The buttress portion 10 tapers out 85 into a bolt shank 18 extending out from the web-portion preferably at an-obtuse angle, although the angle should accord with each building construction.

Masonry C forms the window pocket into 99 which the window frame 1 is inserted and mounted preferably with the anchorage B already attached to the window frame in the usual manner set forth in my prior patent.

What I claim and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is:

1. In an anchor bolt for safety window cleaning devices, a flat elongated web-portion adapted to lie fiat against the inside face of a window frame and to be built over 100 by the masonry; an attaching ear lying at an angle with said web-portion and adapted to be secured to the exposed face of said window frame; and a headed bolt-shank; a

buttressing base portion extending out jointly from both said attaching ear and said web-portion and integral therewith and blending into said headed bolt-shank in exposed position.

2. The anchor bolt as described in claim 119 1 and further characterized by the fact that said bolt shank has a buttressing base portion provided with a vertieal face to fit flush against the vertical outer edge of the staff bead of said Window frame.

3. In an anchor bolt for safety Window 5 cleaning devices, a: flat elongated Web portion having a lateral projection near its outer end and adapted to be secured fiat against the outer face of a window frame; a headed bolt shank formed at the outer end of said web portion and extending out therefrom; said bolt shank having a buttressing base portion provided ivith a vertical face to fit flush against the vertical outer edge of the staff-head of said Window frame. 7
