To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Ami-run \V. MINNEY, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Lbs Angcles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented certain new and ,useful Improve ments in Beaters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to heaters and is more particularly directed to r a heater adapted for use in the preparation of or ticles of food. f
'An object of the invention is the provision of a strong, durable and easily cleanable beater or mixer which may be readily assembled or disassembled.
g- A: further.object of the invention is the of the same; and;
provision of a heater ormixer in which all the parts that are susceptible to wear are enclosed, so that the ingredients which are being mixed or beaten may not come in contact with said parts.
Another object of the invention is the provision ofa compact sanitary structure which is positive in its action and so c 0nstrut-ted that all the moving parts of the mixer are spaced relative to each other that a minimum amount of wear will be had. 7

A cylindrical shaft 11 is rotatably mount ed within the sleeve 3 and has a hearing, 12 at the uppcr'extreme end of said sleeve. The bearing is separate from the sleeve and is of such diameter that when forced into the' upper end of the sleeve it wilhre'main' in a fixed position; A second bearmg 13 is mounted in the lower end of the sleeve 3 and is provided with a flange 14 resting on the hub 15 of a beveled car 16 which is pinned to the shaft 11 be ow the bottom of the container 1. The flange 14 of said bearing is in engagement with a the bottom of the container, while the bear-'- ing 13 is forced into immovable'relation with the sleeve 3. A second sleeve 17 telescopes the sleeve 31in spaced relation and is provided with an enlarged closed end'18 having arectangular passa e 19 throu'h which is inserted the square end 20 of t e shaft 11. A bracket 25, which is of angular formation, has a horizontal member 26extending' radially from the shaft 11 and in engagement with the base 2 of the container 1. A second radial arm 27 in alinement with arm 26 is in engagement with the base of the container. The lower end of the bracket has'a lower horizontal arm 28 spaced from the radial arm 27.
A pair of' spaced vertical stand rds 29 and 30 connect the radial arms 27 and 28 together. An auxiliary bracket 3 is integrally formed with the bracket I) and has two vertical standards spaced frtirl each other. At the lower end of the bracket 3]. integrally formed a horizontal clamping arm 32 carrying the screw 33, rovided with a1 knurled knob 34 i' or operating the screw.

It is particularly pointed out thatall. of the operating parts which are enclosdubetween the sleeves 3 and 17 are spaced from. each other as shown in Figure 3 to prevent wear of said parts when the heater is in operation.
Thesbperation of my device is as follows: .The heaters 24 are ositioned within the container 1 as shown in Figure 3, with the nut 49 t ightened' for locking the sleeve 17 the shaft 11.' Whatever ingredients desired to be beaten or mixed-are placed within the container'when the top 5 is-locatm-l in position with the heaters 9 depending from said top and projecting into the. container. The crank 46 is then operated, operating the shaft 45, chain 43, gears 44 and 4,2, shaft 41 gears 40 and'16 and shaft 11. Rotation of the shaft 11 causes rotation of tlic sleeve 3, arms 23 and the heaters 24.
The annular depending flange 6 of the cover 5 cooperating, with the lateral flange prevents 03s of any of the ingredients from the mixer when the same is in operation.
It will be noted thatthe heaters 24 out through the ingredients and between the stationary paddles 9 whereby the ingredients in the container 1 are tboroughl beaten or mixed. This heater or mixe'i wi 1 beat or mix eggs, frostings,-coatings, mayonnaise, cake dough. pancake-dough, custards, sauces, whipped cream, egg nngg milkshake, batters of all kinds, and in fact any thing except stifl bread-dough.
When it. is desired to remove the beaten ii:- gredients of the container, top 5 is raised with beater 9. Nut 49 is then unscrewed.
