PAPER STREAMEB.

To all 'whom it may concern.'

Be it known that l, HAoHIsHIoHIRo KASUGA, a subject or" the Emperor of Japan, residing at No. 29, -Chome, Tani-Machi, Higashi-Ku, Osaka, Empire of Japan, have invented certain new and' useful Improvements in Paper Streamers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to; a paper streamer having a number of various colored paper streamers wound around cores. In the de vice, several sheets of paper, having different colors are wound on cores and are laid with their ends one above the other. The said ends are then connected to one end of a wrapper, and then the sheets are cut transversely, into any desired number of rings, to accomplish an object of ythe invention, which is to provide a more beautiful spectacle by a greater enlargement of the spreading surface, than that in the usual paper streamers.

My invention will be moreclearly understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

Like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the drawings.

Sheets ot colored paper, having a suitable width, are wound around lead or smaller metal cores l, 2, 3, 4, 5, in any desired form, for example, triangular, rectangular, or circular, as shown at 1', 2, 3', 4', 5. These separate elements are assembled to form a plum-flower or other suitable shape. The separate sheets of papers are laid with their ends one above the other, as shown at 6, and are connected to one end of a wrapper 7. as at 8. The assembled, rolled, elements, are then cut transversely, into a number of rings, as in Fig. 2, the wrapper being uncut and holding all the rings in a casing. The wrapper is shown rolled on itself, at 10, Fig. 1.

In use, the connection part 10, which is one end of the wrapper, is stripped off as in Fig. 2. rihe operator, holding this end, can then throw the paper streamer, so that the individual elements having diierent colors can spread out over a wide space, giving a beautiful eect like flowers in full blossom. It is particularly suitable for danvcing and banquets.

liitherto, the well known paper streamer consisted of many windings of streamers of different-colored papers, with their ends connected to one end of a wrapper, so that there was a. tendency to accidental release, and to spreading out over merely one band of a single color for each ring. These were very unsatisfactory to keep in stock.

My invention, as above described, comprises wound sheets of paper, of diderent colors, intimately associated in a wrapper which serves to prevent any accidental releasing. My improved streamer is cut transversely to form a plurality of rings, of any desired number. On throwing the streamer the many bands of paper are spread out over a wide area in giving a very beautiful effect.

Having now described and ascertained the nature of this invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed, l declare that what I claim iszl. A paper streamer, comprising, a plurality of juxtaposed elements forming a bundle, a single wrapper connected to each one of the elements for wrapping around the bundle to hold it together, the bundle of elements being cut transversely and entirely through at a plurality of points, the wrapper being left uncut.

2. A paper streamer according to claim l, each of said elements comprising a relatively heavy core, and a strip of colored paper wound thereabout, the free ends of the paper strips being connected to the said wrapper.

3. A paper streamer, comprising, a plurality of juxtaposed wound elements forming a bundle, and a wrapper for the bundle, the wrapper being connected to each of the elements.
