IMPROVEMENT IN SNOW-SHOVELS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No.148,077, dated March 3, i874; application tiled D` cember 29, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHESTER L. MARSH, of Seneca Falls, Seneca county, New York, have invented an Improved Method of Attaching IronPoints to the Blade of Snow-Shovels, 85e., of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to furnish a cheap and easily-adjusted iron point or tip tol blade with'the point attached. Fig. 3 is a sectional end view, showin g the position of the barbed prongs B in the blade, and the positiou of the point when attached, which is eii'eoted by Simply driving the barbed prongs B, as shown in Fig. l, into the end of a shovelblade, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, and the attachment is complete without the use of rivets or other means of attachment, making a cheap and eeient point or tip for snow'shove1s,&e.
Now, therefore, what I claim as my invention is The metal tip A, provided with the barbed or notched prongs B for securing it to the wooden shovel-blade H, substantially as Shown and described.
