`IMPROVEMENT IN HONllNV-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 147,914, dated February 24, 1874; application iiled September 29, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, JOHN DONALDSON, of Rockford, State of Illinois, have invented a IIominy-Mill, of Which the following is a speciiication:
The object of my invention is to prepare hominy from corn; and it consists in the con- Y struction and arrangement of the devices hereinafter set forth and claimed.
In the drawing, Figure l shows an end view of my mill. Fig. 2 is a section of the hulliugconcave p p p. Fig. 3 shows the beaters a a a. The general construction of my mill is shown in Fig. l.
Shaft A bears the beaters ce a a, which are placed alternatelyT at right angles upon said shaft. These beaters are constructed as shown, being somewhat S-shaped, the outer surface being finely serrated, and are drawn through the grain with a sliding stroke. I claim as my invention- In a hominy-mill, the combination of the beaters a, the sectional concaves b d, the shafts and pulleys A B O D, and belt E, all constructed and arranged to operate substantially as and for the purpose shown and described.
