Ee it known that CHARLES/R'. KEER'AN, a citizen of the United States, residing at rlChicago, in the county of Cook and State of illinois, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Fencils, of which the foilowing isa specification. A
T his invention relates to a pencil equipped with propelling mechanism interiorly of its body, and operable by means exteriorly thereof, for advancing-into operative position a lea-d at one end, and an eraser at tlie other. in many respects the presentpencil follows the construction already disclosed in my application now pending as Serial No. 291,494 (Patent No. 1,372,296); it exhibits however, certain improvements which have to do particularly with a magazine within' thepencil for the accommodation of re-4 serve leads. It is to be understood, therefore, that the present pencll embodies 4 a tions aforesaid, as well as certain other improvements to which specific reference will hereinafter be made. l
