To all whom it may concern i Be it known that I, EDWARD M. DAVIES, of Allegheny, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Gurtain-IiiXtui-e, of which the following; is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a front view of a curtain with my improved fixture attached, and Fig. 2 represents a vertical central section of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate correspondin g parts.
The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the drawing, A represents the curtain; B, the roller; 0, the flanged wheel or cap attached to the ends of the same. The trunnion or axle a of wheel or cap (J is extended suitably beyond the hangers or brackets D, in which the roller turns, provided at its outer end with a screw-thread, and produced with square or triangular cross-section. A metallic, rubber, or other spring, E, is placed between washers b b, either inside or outside of bracket 1), as desired. The washer 1) adjacent to bracket D is provided with a round hole in the center, while the other washer b has a square or triangular hole to fit on trunnion a, and prevent spring U i'rom getting worn. A cheek-nut, F, binds washers and spring together, and is prevented, by its washer b, from becoming unscrewed by the pressure of the spring E when the curtain is rolled or nnrollcd.
The check-nut F is used to regulate the tension of the spring on the bracket, so that the curtain A is held in place in any position in,
with the axle a, of the nut F, washers I) 1/,
