Be it known that I, BENJAMIN L. Srrrznn, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Mounts and Containers for Transparent Films, of which the following is a specitication.

My invention relates to a new and improved combination mount and container for transparent films.

One of the objects of my invention is to provide a new and improved mount and holder for displaying X-ray photographs and particularly those taken by dentists.

Another object of my invention is to provide an improved combination mount and container for displaying such films having a translucent finish, so as to dispense with the h need of using a sheet of celluloid when the film is viewed through transmitted light.

Another object of my invention is to provide a combination mount and container which can be quickly and economically manufactured.

Other objects of my invention will be set forth in the following description and drawings which illustrate several preferred embodiments thereof.

.In the embodiment shown in Figs. 13 inclusive an ordinary sheet of paper is folded over so as to provide a body portion 1, having a top portion 2, folded over thereon. A line of stitching S is made by means of an ordinary sewing machine so as to form a pocket at the left of the container and then an openmgis stamped out of the front and rear walls of this pocket by means of an ordinary die. The front of the body portion is suitably printed so as to enable the dentist to indicate all the necessary data.

It is obvious thatthe film 3 can be inserted so as to be viewed while it is in the pocket, which thus acts as the mount, whereby the film 3 which preferably has a translucent finish can be viewed by means of transmitted light whenever desired. Any number of films can be kept in the pocket portion 1.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4, the overlapping top portion 2, is slitted along the body portion 1 and it has two unslitted mount portions of the construction shown in Fig. 3, one-at each end thereof hence the two sides of the body portion 1 are only connected by the two vertical lines of stitching S.

In the embodiment shown in Figs. 7, 8 and 9, the body portion 1 is folded over so as to have the front portion of greater height than the rear portion and the lines of stitching S of which there are four in number in this embodiment, are continued only up to the height of the rear portion. It is obvious that with the structure shown in Fig. 7, as many pockets or mount portions as are desired can be formed.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 10, a double row of pockets or mount portions has been formed by doubling over the body portion 1 at the top and bottom thereof and by running four lines of stitching S at the top and bottom to substantially the length of the said two rear portions.

It is obvious that numerous changes and improvements can be made without departing from the spirit of my invention.

I claim:-

1. A combination mount and container for films comprising a sheet of paper having a bodv portion and an unslitted folded over portion. the edge of said folded over portion which is opposite to the line of junction between said body portion and said folded over portion being separated from said body portion, said folded over portion being connected to said body portion along a line making an angle with the line of junction between said body portion and said folded over portion so as to divide the said folded over portion into a record bearing main portion and a mount portion, said mount portion having the walls thereof perforated so as to permit a film held therein to be viewed by transmitted light, the said main portion being adapted to eontain data relati\e to said film.

2. A combination container and mount for films comprising a sheet of paper havin; a body portion and two folded over portions at opposite ends thereof, the edges of said folded over portions which are opposite to their lines of junction with said body portion being separated from said bodyportion, said folded over portions being separated by BENJAMIN L. eiu'rzntu.
