O is a vessel, with vertical sides, and a curved bottom i-luted transversely, and which is made of such a size as to fit into the boiler A. In the lowerpart of the vertical sides of the vessel C are formed a number of holes to allow the water to pass through freely. The vertical sides of the vessel C project below the fluted bottom of said vessel, and terminate in straight edges to rest upon the bottom of the boiler A, which edges may be stiffened by cleats, if desired. The vessel C is provided with handles to enable it to be conveniently placed in and removed from the boiler A. D is a shaft, one ofthe journals of which works in a socket attached to or formed in the upper middle part of one of the sides of the boiler A. The other journal of the shaft D works in a short vertical slot in the upper middle part of the other side of said boiler A, whereit is secured in place by a pivoted latch, E, and to its projecting end is attached a crank, F, by which it is operated. To the lower part of the shaft D are attached a number of radial arms, Gr, of such a length as to nearly touch the curved iiuted bottom of the vessel C, and which, when the shaft D is rocked by i means of the crank F, will sweep the clothes back and forth, washing them quickly and thoroughly. His an extension, which is designed to be inserted in the mouth of the boiler A, and which is designed to be used when rinsing the clothes to prevent the water from spattering out. I is the cover, which is so formed as to fit equally well into the mouth of the boiler A and of the extension H. J is a short spout, which is attached `to one end of the boiler A, and to the top edge of which is attached a cleat, K, to receiveV a wringer, the water wrung from the clothes being received by the spout J, and flowing back into'the boiler A, through holes in said boiler, leading in from the lower part of the said spout J. The lower part of the boiler A may be provided with a faucet for convenience in drfawing off the water. f j
Having thus described my inventionywht I claim as new, and desire to secure' by Letters Patent, is
