P. RADLE HARNESS LOOP REENFORCEMENT Filed Nov. 17, 1920 INVENTOR A TT ORA/E Y Patented June 5, 1923.
EATS
sic.
HARNESS-LOOP REENFOECEMENT.
Application filed November 17, 1920. Serial No. 424,575.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PAUL RAnLn, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city or" Arkansaw, county of Pepin, and
State of Wisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Harness-Loop Reeniorcements, of which the followingis a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
. This invention relates to reentorcements or supports for harness loops, and the object is to provide a simple and etlicient metal reent'orcement for strengthening and supporting the ordinary leather loops as used upon harness of any kind.
Another object is to provide such reentorceinent in a form Which may be struck from a single integral piece of sheet metal or other suitable substance and then bent to form.
' In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing .iy reinforcing device as employed on an ordinary harness loop;
Figure 2 is a plan view of a piece of sheet metal out to the required shape for forming the reenforcement;
Figure 3 is a top View or the reenforceinent when bent to the required form;
Figure i is a side view or" the reentorcement.
Figure 5 is a transverse sectional view of the reinforcing device.
The invention consists in providing an 35 integral T-shaped piece oi sheet metal 1, or
other Wear resisting substance embodying the strap loops 6 and 7, as clearly shown in Fig. 5 and these ends are then soldered in that form and position, or otherwise fastened. The end 8 of the main stem 2 is then bent back upon itself to form the fiat 4 hook 9. In use the ring 11, or other part,
is placed in the hook 9, after which the strap 10 is passed through the loop 6 toward the hook 9 and then around the hook 9 and back through the loop 7. Thus all the strain and Wear of the ring 11 is borne by the hook 9.
While I have herein described a certain specific manner and method of constructing and assembling the elements of my inventi on, it is understood that I may vary from the same in minor details, not departing from the spirit of my invention, so as best to construct a. practical device for the purpose intended, as defined in the appended claim.
I claim:
A harness strap reenforcement, made from a. single T-shaped piece of sheet metal and embodying a ring engaging hook and tWo oppositely disposed strap engaging loops.
PAUL RADLE.
