improvements in reels, and particularly to clothes line reels.

One object of my invention is to provlde a reel of the character indicated which will light in weight, which will be durable and which can be cheaply produced. v

A further object of my invention is to provide a reel having improved means for manipulating the same whereby the line may be wound or unr'eeled therefrom without applying thehands directly to the line, thereby eliminating any danger of injury to the hands of user'when putting outor-taking in the line.

Another object of my invention is to provide an improved reel which will be very compact in constructionthereby permitting the reel together with the line to be stored in very small space.

Other objects of this invention will ap pear in the following description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 1 is a view in elevation of a reel embodying my invention.

Fig. 2 is a section on line 22 Fig. 1.

Before explaining in detail the present improvement and mode of operation thereof, I desire to have it understood'that the invention is not limited to the details of con-- struction and arrangement of parts which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, since the invention iscapable of other embodiments, and that the phraseology which I employ is for 'thepurpose of description and not of limitation.

By referring to the drawing it will be seen that my reel comprisestwo conoidal or dish shaped members each having a base portion 10 and an annular inclined flange portion 11. In practice these members may preferably be formed from stampings. The-said members are placed together in oppositely disposed positions, so that the bottoms of the base portions abut againsteach other. Each are placed together the said openings register wltheach other. In eac-h' base portion 10 at 'diametrically'opposite sides are formed" slots l3 and onsaid base portion inter-me diate of said slots are formed tongues 1 1.
