.WILHELM BICKEL, OF STUTTG-ART, GERMANY.
HYDRAULIC OIL PRESS.
Application filed November 29, 1920. Serial No. 427,219.
To all whom it may concern:
- Be it known that I, WILHELM BrcKnL, a citizen of the German Empire, residingat Stuttgart, urttemherg, Germany. have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hydraulic Oil Presses, of which the following is a specification.
To remove the residues of oil seed from the sieve cylinder of hydraulic oil presses, in which they remain after the oil has been pressed out, there are generally used special machines similar to presses.
This invention has for its object to avoid the use of such separate machines and to economize the expenses for the same by improving the construction of the pressing piston of the oil press so that it forms also the hydraulic cylinder, adapted to be operated independently of the oil press. According to this invention a piston is mounted in said pressing piston which, by means of a convenient lever transmission, pushes the residues out of the sieve cylinder. In this simple manner the press comprising the device for pushing out the residues is not much larger than without the same.
In the accompanying drawing the invention is illustrated by way of example, the improved press being shown in axial section.
In the frame a of the press the pressing piston b is arranged which is of the same outer shape as usual and works together with the sieve cylinder 0 in the same manner as usual.
According to this invention the pressin piston 22 forms at the same time the hydraulic cylinder for the pushing out device.
With this object in view the pressing piston b is hollow to form the press cylinder (Z. The piston e of this press cylinder is connected by convenient means, e. g. by a link 7, a lever h pivotally mounted on a pivot bolt 9 and a rod 2', with the pusher I:
in such a manner that the pressing of the oil seed and the pushing out of the residues from the sieve cylinder are alternately effected. I
I claim as my invention and desireto secure by Letters Patent:
1. In a hydraulic oil press, a pressing piston formed as a hydraulic cylinder, and a piston operative in said cylinder to be used in developing power.
2. A hydraulic oil press, including a sieve cylinder, a pressing piston operative relative to said cylinder, said pressing piston being formed as a hydraulic cylinder, a piston in said hydraulic cylinder, and a pusherout for the sieve cylinder operative by said last mentioned piston.
3. In a hydraulic oil press, a sieve cylinder, a pressing piston cooperating with the said cylinder to express the oil from the seed, said pressing piston being formed as a cylinder,'a piston operative in said pressing piston cylinder, and a pusher-out for emptying the sieve cylinder, said pusherout being adapted to be operated by the piston of the pressing piston cylinder.
In testimony whereof I hereby affix my signature in presence of two witnesses:
' IVILHELM BICKEL. Vitnesses: I
