To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, HARRY SIRoT and HYMAN SIRor, citizens of the United States, and residents of the Bronx and Brooklyn,

respectively, in the counties of the Bronxand Kings, respectively, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Collar Buttons, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in collar buttons and the main object is to provide a collar button comprising two members which can be secured in place on the collar band of a shirt before it is donned and are further readily interlocked when the shirt is put on.

Another object is to provide a collar button as mentioned which is provided with flanges to retain the button in place on the collar band, said flanges having a means slldablyreceives the door and has a fiexible thereon whereby they maybe partly opened to admit the insertion of the collar band.

These and other objects will become apparent in the description below, in which characters of reference refer to like-named parts in the drawing. 1

Describing the drawing in detail, the'numerals 10 and 10 represent a pair of amin lar flanges which are separated by a gap 11 within which the collar band of a shirt is received. Said flanges are aligned and par allel to each other, and are separated by a post 12 which has its periphery concavel rounded. A stud 13 projects from the face ofthe flange 10 and has a sphericalhead 14 thereon for locking the described member with a similar member which has a basket 15 projecting from its inner flange 15 Said basket is annular in shape and has a lurality of segments 16 which are separated .y slits 1.7, The spherical socket 111 the bee view of Figket snugly receives the head 14 of the opposite member.

The flanges of each member are, prefer-v ably spaced-to permit occupancy of. one end of a collar band,-andare also of a diameter slightly greater than the width of a button hole. The entire member, is then rotated until the outer flange has been transposed thru the button hole to the opposite side of the band. We claim:.

1. A device of theclass described comprising a pair of interlocking members, each member having a *pair of spaced apart ing a pair of interlocking members adapted to be secured to the shirt collar band, a pair of spaced apart flanges and each member adapted to receive a collar band therebetWeen,'the outerfiange of each member having an annular pocket therein, a door member pivoted centrally Within each outer flange, means for closing said door, and means for interlocking-both members.

3. A device of the class described comprisinga pair of interlocking members adapted to be secured to a collar band, a pair of spaced apart flanges on each member adapted to receive a collar band therebetiveen, the

outer flange of each member having an annular pocket therein, a centrally pivoted door member in each outer flange, said door when telescoped into the flange adapted to permit the insertion into a button hole of smaller dimension than the diameter of the flange, a spring member in said porketurg ing said door into closed position, and means for interlocking both members.
