This invention relates to improven'ents in book Stands :in Object oi the nvention being' to provide a device ot this Character which Will be particularly usetiil in County clerls ofiievs and other 'places Where it is neressai'y to ropy troni oi' make entries iu large heavy books or large iiiannscripts.

An object ot the invention 'is to provide a stand of this characteix in which the book supporting member is adjnstable both vertioallv and angularly. and a stand which Will be strong. durable and eflicient in use. simple and practical in construction roat and attractive in appeeranve and Comparativel v inexpensive to manutacture.

lVith these and other objects in vieiin the invention consists in certain novel toatures ot construction and Combinations and :VIT- rangements ot parts as Will be more fully hereinatter described and pointed out in the Claim.
