To all whom it may concewi:
Be it known that I, AnoLrH D. KAHAN, a citizen of the Unlted States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and use ful Improvements 1n Box Structures, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in box structures, and has especialreference to corner constructions for boxes, rectangular fabricated metal baskets, or the like.
One of the objects of the invention-is to provide an improved means for joining the adjacent angularly related walls of rectangular containers.
Another object is to provide a connecting member, to be located in a corner inside of the container, which will eliminate the square dirt-containing corner of said structures and contribute largely as means for holding the adjacent singularly-related walls together.
Other, further and more specific objects of the invention will become readily apparent to persons skilled in the art, from a consideration of the following description when taken in conjunction with the drawings, wherein p a Fig. 1 is a metal strip fabricated reticulated box or basket showing in side elevation my form of construction.

In all the views the same reference characters are employed to indicate similar parts.
In the particular exemplification 5 is a basket made of strips 6 interwoven to form spaced apart openings 7 at regular intervals throughout the entire structure.
The strips 6 are bent over the ends of the frame 8, located at the top edge of the container and outside of the basket or box formed by the interwoven strips. At each corner there is an angular leg or corner piece 9, which may or may not extend below the container and which bridges the meeting edges of angularly related walls 10 and 11. The clamping strip 12 provides a body part 13 and laterally, projecting fingers 14, on each side thereof, spaced apart at regular intervals so as to be contained within the openings 7 of the container.
The spaces15 are a little wider than the strips 6 of which the container is composed. The clamping strip 13 is providedon its upper end with a pointed tongue 16. The clamping strip is curved, as shown at 17. and placed on-the interior of the container with the fingers 14, bent at right angles to the body part, extending thru the openings 7. The angular corner bars 9 are then placed under the frame 8 at each corner and the fingers 14 are bent back over the edge of the corner pieces 9. The fingers 14 may "then be spot welded to the legs, if desired, to
add greater strength to the structure, but ordinarily such an expedient is not necessary.
The angularly'related walls 10 and 11 may also be made of fiber, wood, solid sheets of metal, or other suitable material with suit able openings 7 near the joined edges of the 1 adjacent walls. After the strips 13 have been properly secured in a container, the tongues 16 may be bent outwardly and downwardly, as shown in Fig. 4, to make a better looking and smoother finish in the corners of the structure.
In containers, such as shown, made of fabricated metalstrips, the legs are immediately below the rectangular frame and sustain the weight thus suspended from the frame, and they are inseparably connected to the adjacent side walls by the fingers 14. In the particular embodiment the adjacent adjoining walls 10 and 11 are shown slightly curved at the corners, but they may be rectangular, in either eventthe strip 13 presents a concave contour to the inner surface of the receptacle, thus eliminating the angular corners usually presented in devices of this character.
Receptacles of this character are convenient for use in factories of all kinds where articles are manufactured, and especially relatively heavy or damp articles, and articles that are in the course of manufacture which would warp wooden structures or inj ure them by excessive heat. I
While I have herein shown a single embodiment of my invention for the purpose of clear disclosure, it will be manifest to persons skilled in the art that many changes may be made in the general arrangement and configuration of the parts, within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

2. A device of the character described con'iprisin a container fabricated of inter-,
laced meta strips to provide a reticulate rectangular structure; a rectangular frame surrounding the upper edge, on the outside of said container; angular legs at each corner under said frame; a clamping strip in each corner transversely curved through an angle of approximately ninety degrees and having spaced apart fingers projecting laterally from each of its sides, extending outwardly thru the openings in adjoining Walls and bent back upon the edges of said corner legs.

A device of the character described comprising a container fabricated of inter laced metal strips to provide a reticulate rectangular structure; a rectangular frame surrounding the upper edge on the outsideof the container around Which the strips are bent; angular legs at each corner, under said frame and outside the container; a clamping strip transversely curved and Within said container having its concave surface facing inwardly and having spaced apart fingers projecting laterally from each of its sides extending outwardly thru the open ings in adjoining Walls and bent" back upon the edge of said corner legs,. and a tongue in the upper end of said strip bent outwardly and downwardly toward the corner of said frame. v 7 V In testiinonybivhereof I hereunto subscribe my name.
