I
This invention rel ates 11 combined change purserand memorandum :book provided with "m ans for securing it to the, misuse the wearer, and. the principal object is jt o provide" a simple device; of this nature. wh ch will provide-a .suitable receptacle for; necessary supplies, will not be burdensome, will be: safe, and may be, cheaplyv manufactured. Another object is to provide a Cidevice of this-naturally 'whieha pencil may'be utilized to lock the edges of the containertogether. i i
Another object is to provide a device of this nature in which loose-leaf paper may be readily inserted and secured and which shall be made without any metallic fastenings.
With these and other objects in view which will be more apparentvas the specification proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel construction and combination and arrangement of parts, the essential features of which are hereinafter fully described, are particularly pointed out in the appended claims, and are illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which m Figure 1 is a view of the device closed and suspended from the arm, and
Figure 2 is an open view of my improved device. .7 i
Figure 3 is a view showing how the device may be secured against loss by being held directly in contact with the wrist.
Like characters of reference refer to like 5 material in retained position betweenthe folds of said member, said means having a f y p 100 i at oneside of the line of fold thereof and f adapted to be engaged withthe wrist to c permit the deviceto be extended into the palm of the hand.
parts in all views.
Referring to the drawing in detail, 10 represents a piece of flexible material which is bent inwardly at the edges so as to secure in place a lining 11 and a change pocket 12. The device is folded at the middle along'the line 13 and a'strip of'elastic 14 passes both inside and outside of the device along the line 13 and is secured or tacked in place by stitching, gluing or other suitable means at 15 and 16 and the strands of the elastic are secured to each other at 17 forming a loop 18. Two registering loops are provided at the registering edges of member 10 and are indicated by the reference numerals purposes.

Stripso-ffpapen 22" are insertedpthrough und'erjthe elastic between the securing points .1 5 l6 'and held in"- tension ofv the elas-ticfbandl o it will be seen that in this wayjl haveprd In use the wrist of the weaieriis du' c'ed'ia device in which, change and other V smalliartifcles may be carried and 'inwhich they may be securelyloeked means. of the 'bencil. s '1 in the loop 18 and the distance betweendfi I and "17 is just su'iiic'ient ,.to "permit the 'bek tolie fiat in the palm of the to which the-device is secured. fln nsingjthe book it I will he found exceedingly ic'onvement to merely bring the same up into i, the palm of the handand then openiit with theother hand, the p-alm of the first hand forming a' convenient and effective backing for writing After the device is locked up it may be allowed to dangle from the wrist as in Figure 2 or may he slipped under the elastic of loop 18 as in Figure3 In this way should-a person desire to play the piano or indulge in: any thing'else requiring the. use of both hands it would not be necessary to lay the pursedo-wnwhere it might be easily forgotten or mislaid or actually stolen and if the purse is-placed as shown in Figure 3 there will be no danger from pickpockets and purse'snatchers.
What is claimed as new"is:- r t 1. A device ofthe classdescribedj comprising'amember foldable on itself between its ends and means between theends of said '95 1' member and; at one side of'the line. of fold.
thereof for maintaining strips of flexible looped'extension projecting from the device 2. Adevice ofthe class described con1 its ends and resilient means between the ends of said member and at one side of the line of fold thereof for maintaining strips. ofwf flexible material in retained "position between the folds of said member, and a looped portion extending from said member atone i side ofthe line of fold thereof and adapted to engage'with the wrist to permit the device to be extended into the palm of the hand.
3. In a device of the class described, the combination of a body portion, a change pocket secured thereto and a suspension member secured at opposite edges of said body portion so as to form means for maintaining strips of flexible material in position on said body portion, loops secured to the margins of said body portion andmeans cooperative with said loops for securing said body portion in folded position.
4. A device of the class describedcom-- the folds ofsaid member. and a portion extendingfrom said means at apoint immediately to one side of the line of fold thereof and adapted to be looped about the wrist of the wearer so that when supported from the wrist, the member maybe extended into the palm of the hand.
5. A device of the class 'described cominesn ie prising a member foldable on itselfbetween its ends and provided with means at one side of the line of fold and co-acting with the member to maintain strips of flexible material in retained position between the folds of said member, a portion extending from said means 'and'adapted to be looped about the wrist of the wearer and operable to respectively permit the member to be suspended from the wrist and held in flat confinement therewith so that when SUS- pended the member may be extended into the palm of the hand.
I 6. A device of the class described comprising a member foldable on itself between its ends, and means looped cross wise of the member to one side of the line of fold thereof for maintaining strips of flexible-material in retained position between the *folds of said member, a looped portion extending i from the member at one side of the line of fold thereof and adapted-to be engage'dwith the wrist so, that the member can be extended into the palm of'the hand andmeans for holding the member closed. a In testimony whereof I have afiixed'my signature. 1 V
