IMPROVEMENT IN TWINE-HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 143,268, dated September 30, 1873 application filed March 22, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAvID WEBBER, of Houlton, county of Aroostook, State of Maine, have invented certain Improvements in Twine- Holders, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to provide for an improved twineelevator, which Will conveniently hold a ball of twine, give the necessary tension to the twine when being unrolled,
and which will cause the end of the twine connected to the ball to ascend to a height out of the Way, which can be regulated at will. It consists of a frame, conveniently and cheaply made out of Wire, soldered or bent together, but may also be made of wood or cast metal, and suspended to the ceiling of a room by aid of two eyes.
In order to more fully describe my invention I refer to the accompanying drawing to the arm B. A tension-worm, G, isplaoed between the hook b and eye d of' the arm B. A similar arm, C, having on its lower end an eye, K, from which is suspended the tensionring e, is placed opposite the arm B, and between both arms is fastened the rod D, on which the ring E slides freely. A regulator, I", prevents the ring from dropping down the rod D, and serves to regulate the distance it is desired the ring should drop after being elevated. f isa tension-ring attached to the lower ends of the arms, `servin g to suspend the twine-elevator by wires yor cords from the ceiling. H is a ball of twine.
Having thus described my invention, I desire to claim-'- The receptacle A, hook b, arms B and C, tension Worms and rings c, e, and f, eyes d, K, and G G, rod D, ring E, and regulator F, substantially as and for the purpose hereinbefore set forth.
